im not sure what to get. i know a few people here got the magnaflows and love it. i hear others talk about a custom system. so pretty much im stuck between a jba, magnaflow, or custom. just want some opinions on all 3 to hel make my dicision.

i want to know pros and cons performance and sound wise. i oviously do not want my car to sound like a civic lol.

i also plan on getting a supercharger in about a year or so. so i need to know which would suit that better. ill be getting little stuff like a chip headers and such before that tho.

thanks in advance guys.

$.02 worth

V8 GT take-offs are the best option if you're on a budget .....

in my opinion they sound about the same as any other axle back system on the V6.

There's nothing out there that's going to make it sound like a V8 anyway.

:Zip2: oooooops

It really depends what you are going for. I love my Prochamber (which is a baffled X in a box), used GT pipes, and threw on some MRT mufflers. It is an expensive exhaust set-up, but arguabky the best around. You can get a nice SS X-pipe, a drivers side GT pipe (they are SS), and a good set of mufflers for around 700 or so. Installed, you are looking for under a $1,000. It all depends on your level of commitment.

If you are going SC, then do the right thing and get a good exhaust system up front. I would recommend the X or the Prochamber. Shooter is right, though, a GT takeoff exhaust is the cheapest option and will improve exhaust flow. BUT keep in mind that GT owners are swicthing their H's for X and chambers...

not necessarily true, the x, h, and procamber all change the sound of the exhaust so much, that many of the people swaping to x pipes are taking them off, because they dont like the sound. everyone thinks swaping the h pipe out will give better #s, but in reality the cats give the most restriction. high flow cats, or an off road pipe are where the benefits come from. i bought the off road H for my car.

i dont want a gt take off. ive heard gts i want my car louder. the stock gt wasnt loud enough for me and that was on a gt. i doubt it would do much on a v6. i mean i like the sound i just want that but louder.

Good point. I am jjust saying that the H, while an upgrade from what we have, may not be worth it for those whop have to keep cats. I mean, after 3,000 RPMs, the H is useless and the system becomes straight through. That would sound great on an 8, but the 6 requires a gentler touch! I have a Prochamber on my car, and I have heard no nicer rumble (if you have good mufllers, that is. GT mufflers are designed to reduce noise.). With the MRTs, I sound mean at idle, better than a stock GT, but of course, but better than a GT with O/R pipes and an SLP or equivalent.

Remember, we are a 6, and while you can drastically improve performance and sound, the sound of 8 cylinders with the proper exhaust will trump you.

I have a complete takeoff GT system, it ran me under $400. I like it, because its quiet.

If its loud noise your looking for then the GT exhaust isnt what your looking for.

Actually fellas, the GT takeoffs are not bad at all. You could try GT take offs and a OR H or X pipe. They have a GT(may give you a point of reference) sound clip at brenspeed.com with stock mufflers and OR pipe, it sounds pretty good. As said before your biggest barrier are the cats in the system. I have heard a clip of excepcions and it sounds very good!

I have duals with an X. I just got my flowmasters removed. WAY too loud in the interior. Youre gonna have a headache if you go with 40 series flowmasters. GT takeoffs with an X would sound good.
