getting engine lined up with trans?

so, is it okay to replace the metal line with just regular rubber tubing and insert the filter in between the pump and carb

is it worth having two filters? one before pump and one after?

It is to me On the electric pumped system on my 89 Ranger, I've got the pump mounted below and just forward of the tank with an inline filter before the pump. Another filter/waterseparator downstream of the pump, and another inline filter just before the carbs ( yea that's right--carbs) The pump is a 30 gal/hr and it has yet to starve the carbs, even at WOT ( 6500 rpms which in 4th gear is 135 mph)
