Hey guys, im finally getting some gears in my car. I think im going with 3.55's instead of 3.73's but have not decided yet.
The rear is stock as of now, and has 108k miles on it. Should I get it all rebuilt while im getting gears? I never have a problem with it not spinning posi, and there are no noises or any other problem that I know of.

The price for gears/installation is 425.
If i want new bearings too its 650.
If I want the trac lock rebuilt (new clutches) on top of it all, its about 850.

Do these prices soud good? Should I just get gears? Gears and bearings? or everything? thanks.

your getting ripped off

I bought gears on ebay for 30 bux, then I bought a rebuild kit for the install for another 65, and had a shop install them for another 100...

You should shop around and hit up ebay

95Mustang302 is 100% correct that is what i did i bought used ford gears(373's), bearing master kit, axle bearings, axle seals and traction lok rebuild kit off e-bay,ask the shop what they charge for labor if you supply all the parts. i paid a shop $200 to install total price was under $400....

i've also been looking into this. the best price i found around here for gear install and track-loc rebuild was $425. This is labor only with me supplying all the parts.

These prices include all parts and labor. I've called around and this seams to be the best prices around. I really only wanted to pay like 5-6 for everything, but I guess im out of luck?

Either way, should I get it rebuilt too? Or should I just swap out the gears and maybe the bearings?

You can get everything brand new from buyfordracing.com

I got gears, install kit with all bearings and seals, and trac lok rebuild for like $330 .

the cheapest install I have found around here is ~$375 with the rear end out of the car. $450 with it still in. And some other place wanted like $700. $1600 w/o parts. I seriously can believe how bad they try to rip some people off.

Do a rebuild. You will regret it if you get one wheel spin a month after doing gears.
