Getting my dream car...

THANK YOU for all of the compliments guys!! :hail2: I'm really excited about this car! Now to answer some of your comments/questions...

man thats a good looking notch, i like it alot, someone definitly put alot of love into it and there are alot of things done that people wouldnt notice at first glance. I love the 86 nose, especially when they put the newer style molding on the car, that thing is clean.

A word of advice, GET RID OF THOSE COMP LIFTERS, i did alot of research on solid rollers and there were very few people that had anything good to say about them, seems like they have alot of failures and when one goes it can be a pretty big deal. Whenever i get the money to put a solid roller in my car im going to use isky red zones with the bushing option, they are not cheap, but it seems like they are the only solid roller lifter that dosent have to be rebuilt every season.

How high does the motor rev?

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into changing the lifters out asap. The motor will rev to 7k and revs really fast because of the aluminum flywheel.

i don't think i could give up forced induction after just 5 or 6 months... you probably got a couple few grand back though didn't you? that is one sick looking car man, what are the plans for it? are you going to keep it carb? going to throw some boost at it to compensate for the loss of the 99? whats up dude?!?!?

I got a large chunk of cash back on this deal. I traded the '99 for this coupe plus cash. Plans are on the table for either a n/a big inch windsor or a stock bore windsor with a turbo (or two). We'll see!

what a clean notch... with T-tops. thats cool... mind if I ask how much you scored that for? That mod list is pretty robust...

Thanks man. A gentleman doesnt say numbers, but if you search hard enough you'll find the car on Corral and FEP classifieds.

wasnt that car on FEP for a while?

It sure was.

Did you trade up the 99 for this? or sell off the 99 and buy this?

She looks like a monster!

Thanks man! See above for details on how I acquired this car.

So I guess I'm not painting them skirts and mirrors anymore lol. I was actually excited to do them for ya. Send the new owner to get them done my way! lol

Ahhh I'm sorry jesse, I just realized that. I'll be going to you for something in the near future, I guarantee it! :nice:

oh he will it will be sold/traded in 6 months, for something else, our buddy 1991notchback should have a sticky at the top of the forum for all his car purchases. He gets every car we dream about just to trade it for another car we dream about

That guy is local. Very nice car. Don't mess it up :p

Thank you, it'll be well improved I promise you.

:D Would you believe I'm only 24 and currently unemployed? And no, I dont deal drugs and my parents don't give me money. I'm just... resourceful.

If i were you i'd see what you can get out of that setup, looks to be well built, also i think those headers are definitly holding you back, if you are gonna keep it i'd look into some longtubes, i have a set of bassani stepped headers and the old x-pipe and mufflers off my car, PM me if our interested

The car runs strong but needs some jetting/dyno tuning for sure. It feels like there's a good amount of power to be gained. I'll keep you in mind about the headers/exhaust setup. I may take you up on that in a month or two. PM me with a price just so I know what ballpark you're looking for.

You did good, car of your dreams, cash back for more dream building... nice

Thanks man!

Not what I was expecting at all...you made a great choice. I love everything about that car. Have fun with it and to be honest thats the best one you've had yet.

Thanks Josh! I'll be keeping this one for a very, very long time. I've wanted a T-Top Coupe for as long as I've known they existed. Now that I have one this clean, I'm not letting it go.

All that suspense for that????? You're be bored in 2 months with that. I do look foward to seeing your next ride. I'm disappointed in this one. :(

with that said, it's only my opinion. Enjoy your new ride.:nice:
