Getting my gears

Finally saved enough money to get the little bad boys. I got the summit 3.73 installtion kit. Cost me $413 dollars but it should be worth every penny. I got some stronger joints to go with it.

yup it will be a whole new beast...the first time i went to the track after i got my 4.10s, my 1/8th mile was .3 tenths better...we have a 1/8th mile that is a little short and with my 4.10s i went an 8.2 and before gears my best was 8.5

well this car in staying pretty stock. I didn't want to low a gear. These also seem to be a favorite among automatic equipped cars too.

Are you doing the install yourself, or having a shop do it for you?

no way i'm touching that. I have a ford only shop putting them in and correcting the speedo. They'll also install my tokico shocks when i get the money for them.

I am getting 4:10's next week myself and I am getting a mustang only shop to do mine.

I just got my 3.73's installed today

makes me very happy...and it got rid of all the howling, whirring, rattling noises that a 184,000 mile rear end makes too

actually for automatics the 4.10 gearing is alot better than 3.73's, but if you want the gas mileage then 3.73's are a good choice

Had 3.73s installed in my 01 auto couple weeks ago. Made alot of difference. Dropped a few tenths in the 1/4 and engine isn't working as hard to pull the car around. Deffinately a good investment.
