Alrighty, Most of you know my dilemma, car got backed into. Well I took it to a body shop, long story short, me and Slow95GT(works at a body shop) went to check it out one day and the lady said that they were gonna put about an inch of body filler on it and not pull out the quarter anymore.

I got pissed, the next day they were open I pulled it right out of there and took it to Dugan Racing where it has been since Monday. Tom Dugan said that he was gonna cut out a panel of my quarter and do it the right way. BUT he says he won't work with the cobra bumper(ABC) I brought him. So now I have to see if I can return the ABC to mustangs unlimited and buy a cervinis. Thats another at least 350 bucks out of my pocket on top of the original cost of the ABC.

Next up is the fact that the other body shop tore apart my inside quarter panel to gain access maybe? I have no idea what they were thinking, and they just gave me a huge bucket of bolts and said that most of them were mine, I'd have to figure out where everything goes.

Then some of you know I got a rental Jeep Wrangler. WELLLL the story with that is the guy's insurance company "FORGOT" to tell me that they would only pay for the rental while it was being repaired, not just when it was in the body shop. I dropped my car off at Taylor's Collision on the 9th, They didn't start work on it till the 16th(not my fault, I was in there EVERYDAY telling them to get on it). Now I have a week's worth of rental car fees that State Farm is sending me a bill for, upwards of 500 bucks!!

Now with all of this happening, and if I haven't lost your attention yet I swear I want to cry, it seems like a HUGE mess that's not worth it. As soon as I get my car back from the shop a for sale sign is going on it.

I think I'll get a bronco/f150 or something that can haul my boat and 4x4.

Eh....no offense but if hard times will make you walk away then maybe this kind of car isn't for you. I really don't mean that as an attack, it's just that there's always some kind of BS with Fox's.

I know, but I think this is more of just me venting. I don't think I could ever sell it, but its just soooo hard not to think about getting a piece of crap that I don't care about getting ****ed up and having money for everything else. I am going off to college next year and I have no money saved, except for what my parents are giving me because all of my money goes to my car.

We all get there. Don't act like you can't sell the first bumper cover to someone else now, you know someone out there somewhere will buy it even if it's been worked.

Let that ring in your ears for a bit while you think of the future. I don't like to preach or anything but i don't think it's ever the smartest idea to spend without saving Then again, you say you have a boat and a 4x4 so you have other options if money is a concern

Cars are only what you make of them. Lots of people say "I'm getting out of Foxes, they're too much of a PITA" yet they go all mod-crazy and try to half-ass doing so (not your case, but some), then complain when things go wrong. Well duh. A new car would likely do the same, and the older one probably would be fine if they left it alone

Good luck whatever you choose.

I'll leave body work up to the professionals. Especially when it comes to matching paint and crap. Even Dugan said he wouldn't be able to match the silver thats on my car exactly.

agreed foxes take dedication, a lot of people call it quits when you hit a problem like stupid 5$ parts (lifter) causing 1,500 worth of damage

Ya know $hit happens

Especially when you're dealing with a car that in its youngest form is going on 14 years old. Hell the '79s are almost 30 years old!

just put it away untill you can afford it for god sakes don't sell it because you are in a bad mood about the body damage and having a rental car bill to pay for...drive a tempo or something right now. Or do what I did and find a $250 4cyl coupe do drive every day

Good idea and good luck. Dont stress it too much. At my age, whitch is just about yours, the one thing that can really stress me out, is not having enough money.

Guess when you're older and your backbone hardens up (LOL j/k) you realize that walking into a body shop and telling the owner how you want it done is far more sucessfull than his phone jockey telling you what's going to happen. Courtesy.....strong will....relentlessly demanding what....I usually get my way

you WILL regret it if you sell it, i can gaurentee that. you may feel happy initially. but when you first see a nice 5.0 roar by you, you will have flashbacks and start to miss your 5.0. DO NOT SELL.

ive been through the same stuff. not body work. my car ran bad and i hated it i wanted to sell it. i about did and then i thought what the hell why am i wussing out so early. i stuck with it and got my car running right now its run faster than i ever planned and its about to go even faster with a SC i ordered.

I can also say that im done with foxes for a long time, but nice one are hard to find anymore, and i have 2 extrremely nice ones, and one thats a play car, but jeez that 4.6 is looking mighty good these days!!!

Maybe sell it, then when your done with school get a different one. You might also want a 4.6 by then, god knows down south they LOVE their 4.6s. Trust me I have been through a LOT more bad times with my fox in the past month then you could even imagine, and I only have intentions of making it better!

if you were in his shoes, you would have a meltdown, you have it easy compared to him in the mustang repair/performance area.

Oh and Dman, I did talk to the owner, she was just an old lesbian ******, Josh can attest to that lol.

I am not even thinking about my car right now, it is just sitting over at Dugan's waiting for me to give the go ahead and order my new cervinis.

I just got home from my GFs house and she even told me with how much I talk about my car and **** that I would miss it eventually. She gave me a good "mind clearing"

HAHA, without knowing what I have been through an saying that, I find it funny. Trust me, I have been through a LOT when it comes to Mustangs. Hell I had to drop over $500 in the matter of a few HOURS the day before I went to South Carolina with the car. Imagine HAVING to spend $500 or more the day before you leave for vacation which is going to cost you an easy $1000 anyway. Not to mention having to rely on at least 4 or 5 people to get the car done (all things out of my hands). I am not trying to take away from what has happened to him, as it sucks... but to think things as bad if not worse hasn't happened to us, come on.

Hell my friend we just put a turbo in his car had to leave it at a military base in North Carolina. So his car is sitting in a parking lot 700 miles away, until he takes time off work and drives down to trailer it back. Your car rental bills are going to be nowhere near his time off of work, renting a truck and trailer, 700 miles there, 700 miles back, and then having to buy the parts to fix the car. Thats not even figuring the car will most likely be towed and impounded...

SO before telling me how I wouldn;t be able to handle what he is going through, realize that other people can and DO go through a LOT worse stuff, we just don't go online to complain about it to everyone!
