Getting rid of oil blowby/determining its causes

Just installed new valve covers (and an MSD 6A) and I've noticed that my breather was making a hiss and smoking. I have had problems with blowby with my old valve covers (no matter what we did, some oil would end up on the valve covers without fail) but they never smoked or made the hiss my current ones do.

One thing I did notice is that while cleaning my spark plug wires they came out really easily, so I might need new wires. Other than that... what could be wrong?

if you dont mind me askin - what kind of gaskets are you using ?

Are they preformed or are you making your own or ???

Make sure you have baffle plates installed at the PCV & breather holes. If you don't have them, oil spray from the valve train will shoot up into the PCV valve and breather filters, causing blowby...

blow-bye is a result of worn or damaged piston rings. pvc valve and fresh air hose will keep the blow-bye from making a mess on your engine.

fixed it, a vacuum hose terminal on the carb had a cracked baffle. THanks

Even new motors can have blow-by, it's not just common to high mileage or mistreated motors. Only way to completely get rid of it, is to have a completely perfect ring seal and gapless rings. Something that can be planned on but doesn't always happen.
