Got an appt set up to get the car darkened a bit.

$205 for every square inch of glass (including w/s, which was $50). Thought that sounded like a good deal. They were recommended to me by a friend I've known for 30+ years. they've done countless tint jobs for him over the past 10 years, so I trust his judgement.

The plan is 50% on the w/s with a 5% visor band, 35% on doors, 20% on rear and 5% on side windows.

My eyes aren't what they used to be a few years ago, so I'm going with the slightly lighter shade on the windshield. In the past I've had 35% on the front.

I can't wait.

I'll toss some pictures up when it's done.

I've had 35% on the whole windshiled on the past 3 cars I've owned. With the dark strip on top, they don't think about it.

I just want to go a little lighter this time, which will make the contrast between the visor band and the rest even more so.

I'd been pulled over a few times with the other cars, they checked the side windows, but never even looked at the windshield.

50 on the windshield won't be worthwhile, and the strip looks horrible. I have 35 on my entire windshield and it's perfect, along with 15 on the front two and sub-5 on the back five (not a Mustang).

Actually, it's not a waste of money. Compare dash color with a car that has a tinted windshield and it will be the difference of black and white, literally.

My philosophy is, you're looking out of your windshield 98% of the time (or should be), so that's the one window that SHOULD be tinted.

Like I said, I've had that setup on my last 3 cars, it's what I'm used to.

Of course, the dash color/fade argument is a good one, but doesn't really apply to me. Since the car never sits outside.

my 35% on all my windows except my windsheild makes me feel like a saint, I have have the dark charcoal interior which helps, but I am kind of disappointed with how the tint isnt very dark at all...except at night

Thanks.

The previous owner (my friend) took meticulous care of it, as do I.

I took the pictures outside my old high school (haven't been there in 20 years). Thought about doing a nastalgic donut on the way out, but didn't want to shave $40 worth of rubber off the back tires.
