Girl hit me and knocked me into a parked car

Hey guys, I am looking for some advice. I got into alittle accident today and I need some adice. The right front corner was hit and the right front tire is completely toe'd. When I drove off it was dragging on the street. I took pics of the wheel and suspension. I would like to know what looks to be my problem. THink you guys could give me a ruff estimate on how much it would cost to fix. THANKS ALOT. BTW, on the exterior shots of the car, the steering wheel is position striaght.

dang sorry to hear about that. How fast was she going? I do not know much about the dammage but that really sucks. you hit a car that was parked? where did you hit the car that was parked? how was the damage on that car and your car? you get a police report?

... if someone hit u into their car u shouldnt need to worry about it, its covered on her insurance seeing as you didnt cause it.... id guess for body work though in the park of 700-1000 if nothing to serious is wrong with the mechanical parts

make her insurance pay for everything unless shes hot, then PIITB. there probably some damage that im not seeing in the suspension pic. take it to a place that offers a free estimate and see what they say.

take it to a few places but only inform her company of the highest estimate, most likely the most complete one. and dont let them try to make you go to a certain shop. thats what happened when a geo metro cut in front of me on the highway and i hit them. i made them pay for the highest estimate. they almost paid for a marauder bumper to be put on my grand marquis.

96v6firstcar....... I wanted to say i was in that 1% also. lol i am 19 and have a cobra that i pay for...... with out the help of my parents or "Dirty money" LOL as far as the wreck goes. I would do like the others say and go to a lot of shops and get ideas on what they woudl charge. have them all give you a write out on what will be fixed and the cost. get as many of them as you can. Send the insurance place the most expensive one you get. Then go to the place that charges you a fair ammount and does the job right. just my .02 . We pay high insurance costs. We might as well get them to cover the damages of our cars when somebody else screws up. whos to say that the time you spend filling out all the paper work and doing all this crap could not be spent doing somethign else.

haha rock on about being in the our mommy and daddy didnt buy this for us club! just curious what you paid for your cobra though i paid 17,600 through a business friend and put a good amount down (that not a bad deal seeing as i just got it a couple of months ago and it had 17k miles on it)... i figure since im goin to college ill be poor for the next few years but hopefuly a year out of college ill have a newer cobra

i paid 11 for my cobra. The guy wanted 21 for it but i told him he was crazy. LOL he needed 11 grand that day. So i went and got a loan for 11 grand and had the check for him that after noon and held it in front of him. He took it. LOL 99 cobra with 36k on the clock and 8,000 in chameleon dupont paint. i think i got a pretty good deal

There's a number of things that could be wrong.

Basically any of this stuff could be messed up.

Rack
Inner & outer tie rod
Control arm bent
bushings torn
bent strutTake it to a reputable performance shop you trust and ask them to check it out and give you an estimate on parts and labor. Then go to a body shop and get an estimate on that. After you have the total of those two, add 1k to it. That should make things right and you can have some good poly bushings installed while they're fixing it. That's what I would do.

Exactly how did she hit you and knock you into a parked car? You would then have damage on the rear AND front of your car correct? Is the damage ONLY on the front? You have more of a right side impact then front impact.

I don't see much damage to your front bumper, but your tire was waay toed out. I would think that with that much toe out, you'd have some more damage to your front bumper, because hitting a parked car, what would your tire make contact with other then you're own bumper/fender well? I'm not trying to flame or anything, just trying to piece together exactly how the incident occured to better diagnose what might have been damaged.
I worked at an auto garage for almost three years, and I'd say you definitely bent your tie-rod end and possible damaged your steering rack and pinion unit. Judging on the angle of the wheel, you could have possibly bent your upper and/or lower A-arms and damaged your ball joints. I can't see how all that could be possible by getting knocked into a parked car though.

It's definitely enough damage that a police report is REQUIRED. You should contact your insurance company at once. Let them deal with her insurance company. They will tell you where to take it for the estimate. Depending on who her insurance company is, they all have different procedures for getting the estimates. Do not accept payment from them until the car is repaired. They will write a check directly to the repair shop. If you try to avoid the police report and insurance, you're an idiot.

i think you should just go to some shops and have them look at it. If the girl is willing to pay and has money then why should you deal with all the crap form the insurance company and then have it show up on your cars reportand carfax and all of that crap. it is just pointless to go threw all the extra trouble. just my .02

Add me to the 1% of 18 year olds!! I paid 12K for my 2000 GT Premium this spring.

Anyway....about the damage.....my guess is as far as the wheel alignment, whatever the bent part is can be probably bent back to shape, because I see nothing that is broken.... All together, I'd guess damage will be about 1500 assuming you only need a fender and headlight (and the major alignment). Close to 2K if you need a new front bumper or wheel. Take the car to the most expensive place you know and give her a huge estimate! Insurance rules.
