so i have a glass roof in my 09 gt and have a concern. i grew up around chevys and have been a camaro guy my whole life. well i know that the 1978-1981 camaros have the problem of if your motor makes too much torque and you dont have the frame conected the front window will crack from body flex.... this is where my concern is has any one heard any problems with the glass roofs in the new mustangs cracking? i dont want to go to the track hook and break my roof lol. i havnt done any thing to the car yet so thought i would get some insight before i start doing stuff to it and hopfully i will know what way to go with the car.

thanks,

ray

P.S. please dont hate on me for coming up a chevu guy lol

I don't think you've got to worry. The roof is made to be able to support the weight of the car, at least, during a roll over. The S197 chassis is built like a tank, much better than ANY other Mustang.

I've been told the glass roof is stronger than the original metal.

My '89 Mustang 5.0L LX started bending the c-pillars after just a couple years at the dragstrip, so I can understand your concern about the glass flexing/cracking. However, the S197 chassis is so much stiffer than the old unibody cars of 20 years ago that it's just not an issue to worry about.
