Loss of power. An exhaust shop should be able to test it for you.

I thought you were asking about shooting your cat with a "glock" pistol, not asking about a "clogged" cat!

Glocked cat is a lot different than a "blocked" cat. I had a blocked cat, and man, did she swell up!

Seriously, a blocked cat converter will eat your HP and TQ. The car will start throwing codes eventually. Like Shape said, get it checked soon.

And new cats have that sulfur smell to them for a couple hundred miles, especially if you romp on it.

would it be the cat if you are rideing at a constant speed say 70 and you start to loose power and your speed will slowly drop no matter how much you push on the gas also if you push in the clutch and the car dies? this used to happen to me when i would be on the interstate on my way to school also i noticed that if i would down shift into 4th and pump the gas it would pop and smoke would come out and it would clear up and run great. it has not done this to me in a long time just like to know what causes it.

Do yourself a favor if you live in an area that does not do emission checks on the cars. Gut the cats and re weld them.

Had you done anything to the car when this started happening, had you just gotten some gas?
