Hey Guys
Just blowing off some steam after reading a article about a guy putting a duramax diesel in a sn 95 mustang and going 202 mph.
This kind of stuff upsets me so bad.
Why do people put gm motors in ford vehicles. It's so stupid And what's the reason? All I get is parts are cheaper for the Chevys.
What a crock of garbage !!! My personal opinion is anyone puts a Chevy motor in a ford product should be drawn and quartered! Keep ur Chevy a Chevy and leave the fords alone.
FORD #1. Up yours GM

Fast is fast no matter what. Not a fan of cross breeding the two, but when it comes to budget an LSX motor is pretty reasonable (I understand this guy is talking about a diesel).

Not gonna lie, that sounds pretty f'n sweet. I agree with 7upstang91, fast is fast...period. As long as it's not rice and the build quality is good, I can respect almost anything.

Link to the diesel mustang? I love to see how they fit that heavy ass engine in there. As for the crossbreeding, I got over it years ago. Fast is fast and the engine is just part of the tool that makes it happen. Go with what works for you.

The diesel motor sounds creative to me. Maybe he got tired of drag racing a 3/4 ton nose heavy truck down the track. After a few brews, a Mustang may have sounded like a good idea. The torque to HP ratio for the weight of the car sound off for drag racing, but maybe top speed is good.

Before the Ford flathead, stuffing a Caddy or Olds into your Ford was the ticket to go fast. It is nothing new. Now a modular 5.0 in place of the 302 5.0 is a hot ticket. I am keeping my 302 5.0 for simplicity, but fast is fast.

Chevys been building crap bodies since the 80s.. The fox mustang is the perfect and cheap platform for hot rodding... Ford's newer motors are way too big to be able to stuff into an older ford for a reasonable price... The Chevy LS motors and Dodge Hemi motors are the nice perfect width to use into a Ford... Much easier than trying to stuff a giagantic overhead cam ford motor into an older ford... I myself am planning to drop a late model hemi into my 66 Mustang eventually.. Ford **** up with that new 5.0.....way too wide to ever drop into my 66

An LS isn't nearly as cheap as you think. While I see your opinion isn't based on anything other than ignorance I can at least respect your right to have it. But the whole Ford #1, GMs are junk stuff is just ridiculous. Every brand has upsides and downsides. You're only limiting yourself by swearing your allegiance to a car company that couldn't give a damn if you drive an old mustang or not

Some of you need to look up top and remind yourself where OP posted this thread. Last time I looked this is Stangnet. A place where Mustang enthusiasts come to chat with other Mustang enthusiasts about their Mustangs and other Ford related vehicles. There's even a little horsey behind the Logo. "go figure"

I'm always amazed at how quick some of you get offended and start throwing darts when Mustang Enthusiasts are not all thrilled and excited about GM and other swaps in Mustangs.

How can you expect praise on a Mustang related message board when you have no allegiance to the brand and others do. Alot of people do, that's why they are here.

Put this topic on a General purpose Hotrod or Racing Forum and I'm sure that it will be better excepted.

Now I know that this post just ruffled some feathers, tangled some mullets and got some panty's in wads, but on a Mustang message board such as this I can't imagine it would.
I will not post on this thread again so come back and throw your darts at me all you want. I'll check in once in awhile, sit back and giggle because I think you are funny has h-ll.

It's all entertainment to me.

At what point is my MUSTANG not a mustang? It has to have a 302 in it? Well what was it when it was a roller?
You're right, this is a MUSTANG forum. I think they all qualify.

Now that's not to say I don't agree with you saying "don't come here looking for praise". Obviously that's to be expected. Old men and stubborn"purists" will always have a problem with it. And that's completely fine. Yet no one bats an eye when someone builds a dart based motor with ZERO ford parts on it. Is it still a mustang then? Many seem to forget what the entire car hobby/hotrodding movement started with. And the bottom line is building something you enjoy.
But that's not me with my panties in a bunch. Not in the slightest as I've got nothing to defend. You're free to your opinion as is everyone else against it or for it. Just don't confuse having an opinion with having a SAY in the matter. People like yourself who throw a fit about it seem to think their opinion is important outside the boundaries of their garage....

A dart block isn't a ford motor, right? 'Ford based' but still not ford.

I'll do what I want to my car and I won't chastise you for doing what you will to yours.

If you don't wanna see what I'm doing, don't click on it.

How I see it....
1) Hot Rodding began way back before I was even born. Flathead Fords were being swapped into everything back in the 30's through the 50's. Why? It was the most powerful light weight & inexpensive V8 of it's time.
2) Some Chevy guys are as cheap as most of us Ford guys (I admit I have an extremely low budget to work with yearly & needing the best bang for my buck). As already stated; there isn't a cheaper & easier to modify chassis with huge aftermarket support as the foxbody Mustang.
3) Also as already stated; fast is fast. If we all wanted to go fast for the least amount of money; we'd all be racing motorcycles IMHO....

I don't mind arguing a point, but do so tactfully. The syntax in the first post comes off as if a pre-pubescent girl threw a tantrum. That's not going to stir me to do anything other than vomit out a rude response.

It's not... Moved to Talk

Oh and to answer your question... Yeah, there's chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry so that you can mix em all together and have what? Oh yeah... mush that doesn't resemble any of the three.
