i was taking out the whole harness. is it necessary to take out dash how do you get the big cable out of the dash through fire wall. will starter and stuff still work? any help i will appreciate. thanks jason
I didn't have to take the dash out.Just unbolt the computer. Then pull the harness throu the hole.If you need to clip some of the wires to make it easier. What do you have done and what do you plan on running for a carb?
i dont want to cut wires im trying to sell it. im going to use a holley 650 double pumper, f-cam performer rpm intake and heads and all the normall bolt ons. it will have the jug on it (nitrous) this is just a cheap motor till i get all the stuff need to put my 408 in. which it made 600 hp without the jug. so thats my piece. everyone says it is just a tight hole. thanks jason
I converted my 91 to carb when my fueli system crashed and I had lots of carb parts lying around. I just took out the computer and the wires through the kick panel and the firewall. You should not need to remove the dash. The wires you need for start/run are in a yellow/brown clip near the driver side hood hinge. You need a test light and a few minutes to figure out which wire does what. Other then that its pretty smooth sailing.
