join the Marines.

My uncle was a Marine. He wanted me to join the Marines as well. If i wanted to fight and stuff, I would have joined the Marines. I joined to get an education and my career. And i also hate every idiot that says that. "You should have joined the Navy, You should have join the Marines." I say, you should shut the **** up *****.

PCS-Permanent Change of Station TDY-Temporary Duty, It will be considered a PCS move by the way and you are authorized payment of mileage, meals and hotels to get from your training station to your school. You need to make sure you are allowed a vehicle however otherwise it could go into a lockdown lot until you graduate. Also you should be allowed to take leave after your basic (weather or not you do is up to you) otherwise they will give you a plane ticket to get from duty station A to duty station B. If you park it for that long put STABIL in your gas tank so that you dont screw up your engine.

Would i be able to ship my car on a trailer?

Here's the deal. We won't be able to take leave after Basic training. If your school isn't at Lackland, they bus or fly you there after Basic. It is a PCS, but no pay or allowances for moving, they take care of that for you. Once you're at tech school, a car will be worthless for at least the for month or so. After that, I'd try and get some to bring it to you or hope for a holiday that you could fly home and bring the car back. You will get paid mileage when you leave tech school for your first base.

Great choice on joining the AF. I've been in 5 years now and love it. Let me tell you, life is good. Pay is not bad at all, plenty of leave, and great people.

As for the storage, if someone is not going to be driving it, get it on jackstand with plastic underneath it. Also, when someone starts it, have them run the A/C to keep the seals lubbed.
