Going to be painting my wiper arms have one ??

I used low gloss because my 8 year old wiper arms looked like ****. Make sure that you tape off the underside with the spring and the hole where the wiper arm sits into the round motor deal. It is probably not necessary but I figured if the spring and inside the hole got painted they may not work right or just chip off all over the place. If you like shiny, gloss black .. if you like simple and clean, low gloss. Make sure you sand them good first or it will make this orange peel looking crap .. Also, do 2-3 light coats, not 1 thick coat.

Yeah .. I think I used like 800 grit just to knock some of the high/low areas from where sap/bird crap/etc. had accumulated over the years. After you 'scuff' them, use some paint thinner, mineral spirits, rubbing alcohol, something like that to get all the oil from your hands off .. hang them from coat hangers, what I did, and spray lightly or it will run and look bad. I am picky about my car ... even wiper arms :D

dont cuz u wont be able to spray the whole thing...also itll dry better if its suspended

i used a flat black so it wouldnt draw to much attention to themselves, theyre just wipers, plus flat black is what the black piece below our windshields is, so it matching is why i also went with flat black

I used gloss black on my Cougar and it really set them off. Believe it or not, wipers can have an affect on an overall appearance of a car :)

I also sanded mine and suspended them. I used 70% rubbing alcohol to get oils off.

I used several thin coats and didn't get any orange peel look. After it dried for 24 hours I used a really, really fine sandpaper and sanded them one more time then used 3 more coats on top of that. Made it smooth as glass.
