Well I'm getting my VT Stage II cams installed on Tuesday and am going to take the car to The Mustang Shop on Thursday to get it tuned. Haven't ordered the block yet, I caved becuase I still want some go fast goodies for this year, there's still too much racing left in this season. I only trust Matt and the boys at The Mustang Shop to tune my car right, those guys are awesome. Hopefully I can post some dyno numbers or some vid. Then off to the track on Friday to see how she does! I'd like to see some of the Medicine hat contingent make it out on Friday. Lil' Red and Nine4Five0 you guys up for making it to the track next friday July 29th? I'm assuming 8mycash you're still repairing the poor water soaked steed?

I'm hoping to get close to 300rwhp. We'll see. If it only hits 290 I won't complain. I'll just have to spend more to get to 300 :D ! I'll post a pick of the dyno sheets when it's all said and done. I'll post track times from the races too. We'll see how she improves and where I should go from here. It better be in the 13's that's all I have to say.

Oooooohhh Boy! Cams are in and they are lumpy! Car wants to stall at idle real bad. I can't really step into it real hard right now, it just burps and farts and bounces around. Can't wait to get her tuned. Going to Calgary right now to meet Matt at the Mustang Shop so he can dial her in. I can't wait to drag her tomorrow too! I'll post numbers when I get em.

Whoo Hoo!!! Glad to hear all is going as planned. Thanks for the update, and hope all goes well in Calgary. :nice:

That was pretty cool even if i didn't get the results i wanted. We dyno 258RWHP and 281rwtq on a Mustand Dyno. I wish i had been able to get it dynoed before the cams went in because it feels like a real monster. I'vebeen in my friends 03 Vette many times and my car feels way faster than his now, sounds stupid I know but we'll see tonight when we race :D . Damn you should have seen it, Matt worked his ass off getting this thing tuned. It just didn't want to cooperate. The O2 sensors were stuck in closed loop so we couldn't tune the idle from real data, Matt had to do it all by feel. He did an amazing job. I just sat there and bugged him the whole time :D. Thanks Matt, :nice: you did an amazing job, the car runs like a real champ now. If any of you guys are near Clagary I'm telling you Matt is the best tuner around, he got that thing dialed in perfect, air/fuel is almost a perfect 12.6 across the whole board. We didn't get finished up until about 11 but that was becasue Matt wanted to make sure everything was absolutely perfect and that's awesome from a customer stand point. I dragged my butt into my own bed about 1:45. I gotta go to work right now again  . I don't think there's going to be a lot of production out of me today. Matt thanks for all of your hard work and for not taking shortcuts. I :D t means a lot knowing my car is safe to bag at the track now :nice:

Nice numbers. Thats about 300+/- at the flywheel. I've heard Matt is great tuner - thats where I'm going when the time comes!

I don't know if I'm gonna be able to run at the track tonite -the outlaws are coming into town- but I may make it out later to spectate. Too bad its gonna be so freakin hot today!

Yeah, Going to the dyno is super fun.
Standing still next to your car while its wound right out screaming.
I am super jealous of Matt. He has the funnest job. :canada:

Don't forget to post your track times.
Mine did 255rwhp so we should be pretty close.
Give me something to shoot for. :D

Wow!! Thats awesome!! :nice:
Bet ya can't wait to get home from work and take 'er for a spin. Oh, and when your sitting in it in the driveway, listening to that nice lumpy idle, try not to fall asleep :D .

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
The best I could muster tonight was a 14.014!!!!!!! I am going crazy over this 13 thing. We could easily have made 13 if the weather wasn't so "crappy". It registered 97.6 degrees at the track with 37 humidity. Our corrected altitude was 5500feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The one good thing that came out of tonight was 1996 Mustang 2 2003 LS1 Corvette 0. i never got a chance to actually race him heads up. He ran two runs tonight. His first run he ran a 15.08 and the second he actually learned how to drive a little and pulled off
a 14.3. I ran 14.0? all night long. LS What? Not scared of F bodies anymore! Hopefully the next track day is a little cooler. Based on a lot of guys et's at the track it seemed everyone was down 3-4 tenths because of the heat. That puts me in the 13.7 mark which I would be happy with.

Ooooooo so close!!! Just wait till you get some some cooler temps and I bet you'll lop off a good 2 tenths or more. How are you making out with your 60ft times? I'm also thinking your 60ft times should improve with the cooler temps as well, hot pavement is slippery. Sheesh, you may just get that extra 3-4 tenths. :nice:

Edit: We want vids!!
We want vids!!

Too bad its going to be +30 degrees again this Friday.
I would like to get down to Secret Street.

If you are talking about Calgary, later in the night the weather was pretty good with the barometer at 26.45. I ran a best ever 12.08 at 111 that night with my NA 351W

-Matthew

I was talking about Medicine Hat Speedway. I still ran my best ever but it wasn't very good :nonono: . It dropped a few degrees during eliminations but not that much.

I'll try to post some vids of the few runs I got on tape. The last time I hosted on putfile though my computer crapped out for a week. I got some crazy virus from it. I'll see if I can get it to work this time without getting computer crabs :D .

Where did you get your VT Stage II cams, and did you have any piston to valve clearance issues?

-Matthew

I got them from VT directly, I own my own performance parts company, I just don't do tuning. There are no clearance issues with VT products. I have a 96 block and 2004 heads and still no issues. Install was pretty easy. You do have to change valve springs though which is the most painful of the whole process. I have never had a customer with piston to valve issues with VT stage 1's or 2's. I've never ordered the stage 3 yet so I can't comment on those. They are way more reliable than comp cams in my opinion.

Hey now nothing worng with the comp's :P anyway looks like your car has pretty much same mod's as mine heheh whats your best time now? ;)

No offence on the comps if they work for you. I just know of too many people who have had them that had piston to valve problems. I think there are even a few on here. My best is [email protected] @ 5500 feet of corrected altitude. That equals a 12.9 at 106.82mph corrected ;). Go to modulardepot.com in their resources section in the sealevel et portion and put in your timeslip info and see what you come up with. :nice:
