Going to dyno tonight

Tom, please do an apples to apples comparison before jumping on me, thanks. 1 3/4" LT's WILL make more and ARE needed on a decent 347. I've already talked to real people on this subject like Jay Allen :) I asked the same exact question and he said 1 3/4". You know who he is, right? Fwiw I dont really race dynos like it seems you do but did you even both to look at the graph I posted of a guy with "huge" parts on his 347 making more torque at 3000 rpm than pop's makes at the peak? Or 40 MORE ft/lbs at 2700rpm? Happy new year ;)

I didn't jump on you - your too sensitive. The mild intended good natured poke about "bigger is better" has been your stated opinion on this forum for a while. I didn't make any crack like "I don't race dynos like you do". You seem to be the one with the attitude. I told him to do his homework, that's all. If you have a thread or source that runs counter to my post then keep linking us up! We're all here to learn from others. And yes, I make it to Hardcore also, so I know who Jay Allen is - as well as EDC.

Also - the comparison of these two combos is not apples to apples - do you think these two engines have the same flow and power potential? The AFR 185s flow ~270/190 out of the box - close to what Pops is runnin ported. The link yoiu gave is worked 185s - know what they flow? How about intake flows?

It sounded like you were jumping on me, then you posted a chevy 350 dyno.

I posted my combo recommendation for him since I was planning a near idelticle set up. His head specs look pretty nice. If I had a stroker I would want big power out of mine (400+ so I can run 10's) Happy new year

The point of my graph was to show that "big" parts dont kill low end torque if the combo is right. It just contradicts whats being said on this website "big parts kill low end". Well if thats the case explain why the bigger parts make WAY more low end? (not you, just a generalization)

Wow....nice numbers for sure...I noticed you have the 19 cam....seems like its holding its own... I was thinking mine wasn't gonna cut, but youv'e kinda proved that wrong...good to know...
I was looking a some FTI TF prepared heads while back that Ed had up for sale..Your combo seems to be nice and healthy... :nice:

Pops, how fast are you looking to go and what are your goals?

Hi,
I am like a lot of people on forum no real plan!!

Plans... my plans are to have a great running car that is very responsive. Then I go to the track or read/talk about some new thing and I want to go faster. I put my foot into it when someone passes me :( then I want to go faster :D

I know no plan = more money spent!! :bang: I started out thinking that under drive pulleys and a shifter with gears would be sufficent . then I wanted to go faster so heads, cam and intake. thought that would be enough  Now look where I am a stroker?? And to make it faster more money intake, cam, bigger tb etc. It is a never ending gobstopper(the never ending candy in willy wanka?).

Actually I think there is a custom cam and maybe an intake later on. Both will wait til the money is replinished...

The steeda 19 is a very streetable cam for our motors/computers.. and it was actually designed for supercharged apps. (correct me if wrong) If you think you want to get over 300 ponies then you will probably need a plan and a custom cam. IMHO
The car is fun to drive can't wait til the clutch is broke in and the streets dry off !! :D

That is exactly what I thought myself :D

I thought after I ported some E7's and the stock intake I would be happy.

The result was ........................................................... NOT
