Im looking for a 3G alternator. They say they have some from Taurus's.

My question is Radiator Electric Fans. I did a search and I couldn't fine one

on the Junk Yard Fans. What Year and Model should I be looking for a good

doner for a 69 Mustang. Mounting hardware? should I be looking for this

or buying new? Who sells it? Thanks for the Help.

That write-up is for a Fox body. I bought a Taurus fan at the Junkyard a while back ($40) and it pulled air like crazy. Only problem - It wouldn't fit. It's about 4 1/2" thick and I only had 3 1/4" to work with. I sold it on ebay ($40).

Your's might have more room, just something to think about.

So you tried to install it on the Engine side of the Radiator? Ill have to
do some measuring before tommorow.

Just so I'm clear, you are looking to get a 3G alternator from a Taurus? Is it correct that a 3G alt from a Mustang will not fit your 69 without modifications? And this is because its fatter than the Taurus alt?

I Beleive you have to extend the lower adjuster bracket a little bit longer.

I know of a few people that have done it.

You do this to not block the radiator from airflow. kind of counter-productive if you don't.

The Taurus fan is meant to be a puller. I dont think you would get anywhere near the airflow if you tried to reverse the polarity and use it as a pusher. (if it would even work - or FIT for that matter)

Summit has 16" fans for $60.00 give or take $10.00. Not bad for new with a warranty.

I was talking about the 3G conversion with the lower bracket. I have no
idea about the Taurus Fan. The summit price of $60.00 doesn't sound
to bad either.

The Dodge Intrepid fans are great. Dual fans. relatively low amp draw, high CFM and very thin...

I guess it's a Taurus fan I have. Or maybe a 94-95 Mustang fan. It's getting old. Pulling alot of amps. But it does move air like nobodies business. Shroud is nice and big too, covers most of my radiator.

Just to confuse you more, my friend has a 65 coupe, 289 that uses a Pontiac Fiero electric fan. It looks like it was made for his radiator.
