i run my tires at 23 psi (bfg kdw's) and i launch around 2000rpms but i don't dump the clutch i let it out gradually so i can grip....i have the sct xcal2 so i bumped up my rev limiter so i shift right at 6k

street tires require full psi to hold the sidewalls up for maximum traction.

go around the water box....spin tires lightly for a lil heat up but not some huge burnout

launch at 3k, slip the clutch out

go on the 3rd yellow light

shift at redline

Some tracks require you to wear pants, sleeved shirts(short sleeve is ok), and closed toe shoes(no sandals). Also, at my track, if you run 13.99 or better you have to wear a helmet.

Just relax and have fun!

Warning: Drag racing can be highly addictive!!!

If you go to the tracks website they will probably list the requirements. Tracks by me require a Drive Shaft Loop if you run 13.99 or better.

They don't from what I understand.

Higher pressure=less rolling resistance but easier to easier

Lower Pressure=more rolling resistance but harder to spin

They will probably check your battery to see if its in the stock location with the factory hold-downs.

the track here only checks the battery.. just make sure you dont break traction off the line to bad.. most people think its cool to burn out at the get-go.. but it will just make your time worse... once you feel that your car isnt going any faster in that gear, SHIFT!

Getting the car ready this morning......6 hours till racetime, so this is what I got

Launch at 2000-3000 (figure were it works best)
At the third yellow drop the hammer
GO AROUND the water box and back into it ...roast em' for a second or two
Use the Nitrous around 2rd gear, since im running 4:10s..
HAVE A GOOD TIME !

If your car has traction control turn it off before each run. Shift at 5700-5800 RPM.

slicks have no sidewall....when you lower the pressure they wrinkle and they dont spin on takeoff....since there is no sidewall, they tend to be loose on the top end at high speed.

street tires have a rigid sidewall....when you lower the pressure, the sidewall collapses and the center of the tire buckles inward a little bit, resulting in less tire touching the ground...they do not wrinkle either....smoot on top end.
