Going to the track in an hour: Tips?

Drop the rears to 22-25 PSI, go around the water, and spin the tires just enough to clean the rocks and crud off of them. Hold on the line at 1500-2000 and slip the clutch for the first 5-10 feet.

If you have 3.31's, you can probably powershift 1-2. If you have anything lower (numerically higher), you won't want to powershift 1-2 on stock tires, but you should still be good on the 2-3.

Powershifting... what exactly is this? Not lifting the gas between shifts?

Yep, that's correct. On street tires, it's pretty much impossible to do that with 3.73's or 4.10's during the 1-2 shift. Definitely not safe. But 2-3 should be ok.

Don't feel bad. Aimee drives our 2005 at the track. With the mods that are done to it, it's good for about 12.5, but her best is still about 14.2.

My worst is 15.1@67MPH lol. I toasted my clutch a bit during the burnout when moving into 2nd gear. Wouldn't go into 3rd gear during that run because of that. We all end up with things like that every once in a while. But I let the car cool down for an hour and ended up running another 13.5 the next run.
