I'll be heading to the local drag strip either this wednesday or next, depending on whether, to get myself a baseline before the mods start coming in, and I have 2 questions.

1. What PSI should I run in my tires? (Dunlop sport 9000's on 16 inch waffles)

2. Since it's 1/8th mile, what times should I expect (stock car with 3:08's, 5-speed and K&N filter)

Thanks in advance guys. :flag:

Before you go test out different psi's on an EMPTY back road. I would try 25psi's and practice launching. Before you go to the track advance the timing for the extra hp.

Sounds like a good idea wytstang, I'll do that this weekend since my little adventure to the track got cancelled due to rain.

Anyone have a how-to on advancing the timing? How far should I advance and should I set it back again when I leave the track?

Well depending on how well the track is prepped is gonna greatly affect your et's. The track I go to sucks and I could only muster a 15.25 with my 3.73's, which was a 9.89 1/8 @ 72.47. You'll probably be lookin at 9.8's or so, maybe some 9.6's if you're a good driver and the track is decent. But practice is your best "mod". So just get some practice in, and have fun.

I don't remember all the steps of bumping your timing, but it's not hard at all. All you need is a timing light. Maybe somebody else can fill you in on that.
