So I think I'm going with a stock interior (mine came with the 2 tone grey interior). It wasn't in very good shape so I converted it to black using some 92 pieces and dyed 87 parts...

Looks like this (sorry bad pic). It's actually much better in person. I put in new black seat belts and whatnot.

But there's something about a mint stock interior and since 87 never came in black... I think my notch would look and be worth more with a factory, super clean interior...

I'm picking up most of the stuff this coming weekend. I'll need to find/order new seat belts and figure out the seats. Mine came with the LX cloth seats but I don't think upgrading to grey leather won't be a deal breaker.

What do you think? Also my notch is a factory radio delete car but I replaced the stock delete plate with my own but I think I'll re-use the factory delete plate.

When I was looking to replace my porno red interior, I was willing to take the first grey interior I came across in good shape. It just so happens I came across a parts car with black interior. So in black went. I probably have one of the few 1988 mustangs with a swapped in OEM black interior, and I spent good money to acquire mint pieces to do so.

With that said, there are things about black interiors I don't like. They photograph well, and sell cars well, but living with it sucks. It's hot as hell in the sun, dirt and dust and any minor imperfection show in the direct sun, the dark interior makes it feel claustrophobic, and it's hot as hell!

That grey 92-93 interior above is perfect to me. Looks clean, prob cooler, the lighter shade looks more open, hides dirt better, and people don't want an arm and leg for parts.

My interior is probably the one part of the car I spend the most $$$ and time on. Upgrading plastic components to better conditioned one, replacing original rusted screws, and trying not to damage 25+ year old plastic.

I've often said before that I'd take a clean, mint conditioned red interior, over a poorly dyed, cracked, and Ill put together black interior any day.

I like the grey leather stock interior, can't beat it. I have cloth also, but will find a shop to provide me a price for the leather upgrade. I have tried looking online for some decent in good shape original interior, and its very hard to find.

Wish I had more pics. Not my car. That interior is sitting in a bright red LX 5.0. Rear seat was recovered to match as well. I thought it was pretty damn sharp.

yeah it's getting real difficult to find mint stock interiors, at least in my neck of the woods. I like the black look and my interior isn't bad at all (I need to take better pics) but part of me thinks turning it into a very clean example will make it worth more in the long run. I'm more impressed seeing 100% stock untouched fox bodies now at car shows... used to drool to smoothed engine bays and custom leather interiors but now... I must be getting old

Its getting super hard to find a 100% unmodified fox anymore, most have something swapped on them,
I like your plans to "unmod" your car,
