Im taking everything over to the shop to get my assembly balanced, and the guy wants my flywheel, clutch, and balancer so he can balance it all correctly. i wasnt really worried about getting a clutch till i put the engine and tranny back in, so it kinda caught me off guard. i will be driving this about 3 days a week to work, and seeing track duty maybe once a month. whats a decent brand of clutch that wont wear out too fast?


Mods as listed below:


-Block Bored and honed to 306
-Trickflow 10:1 forged pistons
-Polished crank
-Trickflow Track Heat Heads
-RPM Air Gap intake
-Holley 600cfm double pumper
-Trickflow 6.700 pushrods
-Trickflow stage II cam ( duration 224*/232* lift .542"/.563")
-FMS lifters
-FRPP balancer
-BBK Shorties
-H-pipe
-Rest of exhaust to be determined

King Cobra Clutch. You can get it for about $170.00 in Summit or Jegs. Also Anderson Ford Motorsport got one for $229.00, It is a King Cobra but it holds 30% more than the regular one.

But pick yourself up a fms hd blueprinted/modified pressure plate and mcleod dual friction disk from www.nitrostangracing.com Its $289.

I should only be in the mid 300's hp wise, do you think i should get the one from AFM? or would the $170.00 one work fine?

i dont know why he wants it, but he said he can do the best job if he has everything.

The super King cobra from AFM for me is the best choice. It would take 30% more horse power just in case you want to increase your hp in the future. I think i gave you the wrong price the corrrect price is $209.00 sorry. Check their webb site www.andersonfordmotorsport.com.

Auto zone 119 dollars. Works superfantastic. Came with alignment tool, pilot and t/o berring clutch disc and pressure plate. Unless ur making some serious power like 350hp to the flywheel, its all you need.

Whoops just saw you are expecting mid 300 hp, deffinately upgrade to stage 2 something.

I think a King Cobra would be a good choice!! Just don't buy a spec!!

Ok, i just ordered the Super King Cobra Clutch. it was as you said 209.00 im just waiting for them to call & confirm it... they have some really good customer service as well, i was impressed!
