Came across a 5.0 explorer motor, The guy wants $350 for it. He swears up and down its a rebuild
but im not sure if i can trust him.. he has no reciepts or documents proveing it. But
im kind of desperate for gt-40 intake.. He will only sell the complete motor.. Is
their any other goodies that can benefit me on the motor besides the u/l intake?
Is their anything i should look for? I already have my intake and heads off since i was planning on resealing everything..

Around here they go for 550 and up.

They have gt40 heads to. On the front of the head there will either be 3 lines or 4 line, (where the intake block in and head all meet.) 3 lines for gt40's and 4 lines for gt40p's.

+1 on the above post. do want it for the motor or the intake? I would take for the intake and heads. build up the heads and score + the intake, lets see gt-40 heads and gt40 intake for $350 yep that's a good deal. you can junk the rest if you want. I would worry about the not have reciepts part, sounds fishy so I wouln't use an engine I couldn't verify. good find either way.

$350 for the entire motor? I'd do it. Good luck finding GT-40P's alone for $350!

Most certainly....about 30-35hp over your stock E7TE heads and intake.
