The kit is way tooooooo expensive. I believe a Tweecer R/T is still cheaper.

Lets all put credit where credit is due. The TwEECer is nothing more than a device that allows you to change the calibration parameters of the EEC-IV.

Saying "My tweecer/rt did not like my mods or my B303 cam" is not accurate. What you mean is that you were unable to adjust the calibration on the EEC to work with your setup.

The TwEECer is only as good as the person working with it. Some people will have more luck with tuning devices that take away tuning features in order to make it simpler. That is okay.

The tweecer/rt is the worst thing i did to my car with all the money i spent with out taking short cuts and being on the phone with c&l profromance and tring everything and all suggestions there is no one set up that worked , even the J4J1 with only changing idle settings caused my car to run poorly , the time i put in to tweecer is not worth the aggravation .

When I get around to swapping the engine out I am going with an AEM unit. That thing is awesome. The more I read and learn I think that will be the best way to go.

Love my tweecer. Think I have it damn neer as good as it gets. (as far as a tune goes) Sorry your experiance wasn't as good. Did you change the fuel table stabalized OL at all. the j4j1 runs real rich found that out on the dyno. Played with the table and now have a 13.0-13.5 afr at WOT. Car idles perfect even with the AC on with my TFS cam. Im sure if you ask around someone has a similar set up that would send you a good tune to start with.

i love my tweecer. there is a big learning curve, but i think it is worth it. now i can modify my tune myself when i upgrade parts.

sorry to hear you are giving up on it. good luck with your other tuner.

where do you live? maybe there is a tweecer guy nearby who can help you out.

User error, not TwEECer error. All the stuff in my sig made my car idle and respond horribly. After finding someone who was an expert at tweecing, he sent me a file that i custom tailored to my liking and the car now runs almost stock. Good luck with other tuners as they are more expensive.

See this is what I didn't want to have to deal with. Don't get me wrong I understand that the tweecer is a great way to modify your computer but I went for the A9L conversion instead. Put it in and forget about it. Way better performance that the stock T4MO and the J4JL.

It is great that worked for you. Some people still end up with driveability problems even with an A9L, so it could become an expensive option fairly quickly, if you end up having to get a tuning device anyway.

Really, the TwEECer isn't hard to use, I think some people try to change too many things at once. It is difficult to dig yourself out of that hole if it turns out to run like crap, since you don't really know what to fix.

I strongly believe that newbies should get a stock J4J1 calibration, modify the MAF curve to match their setup, and set the injector scalars to the correct values. And that's it. For 99% of combos, that should run like stock. It will not make the best horsepower, but it should be smooth. Then go from there, always keeping the base calibration in position 1 so there is a fallback.

You hit the nail on the head. I started out with the J4J1 as a base tune and As I learned I added to the tune and can say the car runs pisser.

I did try the basic changes first and had no luck , tried the MAF transfer and injector slopes also called C&L which makes my MAF and also had no luck with tring what he said .

Part of the problem there is C&L. They do not believe you should tune your computer, their opinion is that the so-called "calibration" they provide with their tubes is better than anything you can do with a computer. That's why I bought a Pro-M MAF instead, because it comes with a flow sheet .

One thing also to consider is that if you cannot get a basic J4J1 setup to work smoothly, and you know for a fact that the MAF and injectors are dialed in correctly, then it is possible (I would say probable) that something is broken. You can't tune out problems that are due to a malfunctioning part, you have to fix them the old-fashioned way. EEC tuning is for when everything is functioning properly.
