Im looking at building a 302 (possable 347 stroker) and wondering what would be a good agressive cam to use? I want a nice growling idle and some guts to get me going at 1500-6500rpms. If anyone has any suggestions that would be very helpful.

Personally, I went with a custom cam for my 347. Only costs a little extra and the cam designer gave me exactly what I asked for.

If not custom, i liked my X-303 cam from FRPP. Ran hard to 6300-6400

the comp cams 270 magnum cam will do what you want also, as will the extreme energy 274 cam from comp cams.

i agree you cant beat a good custom ground. look at spending ~350, but isnt too bad compared to the comp cams off the shelf cam prices.

If your looking to go the cheaper route, id look at the TFS line well before contemplating buying one of the ford aphabet cams (B303, E, F X, etc).

I paid just under 300 for my solid flat custom cam and 300 for my solid roller custom cam. Well worth the money....

My 360 roller cam has 680 lift with 260 and 270 duration and .050.... 110 lsa.
my 289 solid flat cam has 620 lift with 270 and 280 duration at .050. 110 lsa.

Maybe a bit more agressive than you would want but you could if you wanted but the opening and closing specs need to be set to your engine combo.
