Good Clutch?

Whats a good clutch to get for my 00GT, I drive it mostly around town and to cruise. Will be taking it to the track this year for fun. Any input would be appreciated.

I to am intrested, mine just went. I called the dealership just to get a rough price on a stock clutch and they told me $650.... now tell me if i am missing something but I was looking at a spec stage 2 clutch and that was about $300, is that not the complete kit or is this just another reason never 2 go to a dealership.

So far good luck with my Centerforce Dual Friction. Make sure you get the upgraded quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster. It's an extra $100 but well worth the price.

I have a King Cobra in mine (I bought it because the price was right at a Fun Ford Weekend swapmeet), I had a local transmission shop install it, they charged $175 for labor plus $35 for resurfacing the flywheel. I called around for pricequotes before having it installed, and was given quotes ranging from $150 (another local transmission shop) to $280 (a local independent auto repair place). In case you are wondering why I did not take it to the $150 place, its because they were busy and would not have time to do it for at least a week from when I called.

NAPA has a clutch(stock) for 198.00 but there install is real taxed, the problem is if i order a good clutch online, i am unsure how long my car will be able drive b4 it packs up, it looks as if I have to brake the bank just to get a stock clutch, worst part is my rims came in today and I dont want to drive to get the tires put on incase i dont make it back

there are quite a few performance shops that I'm sure carry clutches in the Tampa area...why not try one of them?

The stock clutch is the way to go IMO

ur right, the one I like to go to is in clearwater(45mins away) but I dont know how far I can get in my car(it would suck to brake down on a bridge)

Whatever you do don't put a stock one back in. They are crap, and if you plan to go the track, you will ruin a stock one in no time. Just spend the extra money up front and do the job right the first time.

I have a spec stage II kevlar disc and the engagment is just like stock except no fade in comparison if you heat it up. Comes with their own throw out bearing too which imo is better than factorys. http://www.specclutch.com/specMain.html

The stage 2 looks good for about $320. Now that is w/o the flywheel, not knowing to much about this do I need to buy one or will my stock one work, or is it shot along with the rest of my clutch? ne imput would be useful.

How many miles on the stock one? I only had 12k miles when mine went out, therefore I had the stock one resurfaced and just put it back in. No problems yet. IMHO I would replace the stock one if you have more than 30k miles.

just get your stock one resurfaced, stock will be more than enough, if you want to rev quicker use an alum. fly wheel.

While you are changing the clutch.. what other parts would be a good idea to change/upgrade while you're at it?
