I am looking at getting a Manual Mustang GT, not in a rush, and want to deal with someone that will honor X-plan and not try to insult my intelligence by pretending they know more about these cars then me. Any references would be greatly appreciated. I live in East Haddam, CT, which is on the East end by the Casino's. Anyway, hope to be joining you all soon.

Thanks,
Bill

First off, I never thought I would be saying this on this site...but I too am from East Haddam. I don't live there anymore, but I grew up there, and my parents still live in town. Where in town do you live? Crazy small world.

Now to answer your question...I never bought a car there, but had my mustang worked on at Morande Ford in Berlin. I liked their service department a lot. If their sales is anything like service, they are pretty good.

There is also Dillon Ford in Manchester and I know they have a couple of Mustangs on the lot currently.

My parents bought and Explorer at Whaling City Ford (in New London I think) and they were really pleased with their sales person.

And lastly, I know you are looking for something new...but there is a nice pacific green 97 cobra at one of the dealerships by mcdonalds in colchester with only 44k for 12g's. That car looks pretty bad. Just food for thought.

I'm still shocked by the East Haddam thing. I hope this gives you some leads. Good luck and let us know when you are part of the Mustang family.

Jay,
I live just off North Moodus road on Cherry Swamp Road, one of the new houses that was just built. Small world. I just moved here last year, from NY originally. Like it here a lot more. Will look into the Cobra as well as the dealers you all suggested. Where in East Haddam did you live?

I used to live on Stonybrook Drive right across the street from the murder house. It's right off of palmer martin rd by near millers pond and the industrial park. I'm sort of blanking on cherry swamp though. Is that near the resevoir, or the causeway on bashan lake? It is a great town, nice and quiet, and a nice place to raise a family. However, not a whole lot to do. A great place to take a sports car cruising though. Once you get the stang you will have to take it through the twisties of devil's hopyard. Certainly keep us posted when you get one, and someday when I'm in town maybe we can meet up to compare Mustangs.

I am about 1 mile from the Package Store and The Gristmill Market. It is actually in Moodus which as you know is a part of East Haddam. I moved here due to the fact my wife and I just had Twins and are raising a family. I love it, not much to do does not effect someone with 3 month old Twins.

There's plenty to do around Haddam. Great fishing on the river, the Devil's Hopyard is a good spot for a lunch during the week (a good drive too as previously mentioned), Roger's Lake is less than 30 minutes away. Not to mention Old Saybrook is not to far away either, the shoreline is full of good resturants and bars. That's one of the best parts of Connecticut in my humble opinion....

Yeah, I had tried to edit my other post, because I figured out where you were. You are right near Banner Lodge golf course which is where I worked when I was younger. That's awesome that you had twins. East Haddam is a nice place to raise a family. Quiet and friendly and as stated before, Old Saybrook isn't too far, where you can find anything you really need. Good luck on the car search and keep us posted.

Our Mustang Club took a cruise to Devils Hopyard at the end of last year, probably had 10+ cars with us... definately a nice place!

Old Saybrook is a great place in the summer time. Lots of food, things to do and people!
