thanks. already have those ones. they cover the engine and some interior stuff.

what i'm really concerned about is all the boxes, buzzers and relays inside the dash. which can be disconnected and which cannot? the car had an airbag and cruise control so i assume there is some stuff there that can be removed, but i don't want to unwire an essential component then be forced to re install later.

some such components:
1) little relay like box mounted inside the hole behind the drivers door. looks like some sort of impact sensor.
2) the loom section on the floor that goes across floor to things like seat belt sensors, hand brake, etc... there's a relay on there too! it used to mount to the drivers seat mount. i think that can all go, but i'm unsure.
3) a couple of blue boxes inside the dash. i think they are airbag related. car runs without them... can they go?
4) white box inside dash that dongs when the door opens and makes other miserable sounds at odd times while running. sounds to me like it can go...

god i hate wiring!

In the scheme of building a race car, 15 bucks spent on an EVTM is worth it.

Autozone has some decent schematics on their site.

#2 probably includes your fuel pump relay. You might wanna keep that around.

Good luck.

yup. you're probably right. first race coming 3 weeks from now so i'm turning into a cheap-arse.

i'm betting you're right on that fuel pump relay also. i'll probably need that later on.

against my better judgement i tore into the harness last week. realistically the effort was about 8 hours total to get rid of all the useless crap. i ended up at the local dealer (used the service bay doors ;-) ) asking for a wiring diagram. the techs loved the race car story and gave me the whole package as long as i bring the car by for them to see.

she ran at 9.30 last night. all lights and equipment function as planned... i did have to add/change some things like adding a toggle switch for the heater blower which is now idle or on full, and i jumped the dimmer switch so guage pod lights are on full when headlamps are on (may come in handy if i ever do an evening enduro).

thanks for the help guys.

ps. that was the fuel pump relay i almost chopped out!
