I have just bought an 89 gt. I paid 2,000 for it. I am happy with the price. My question though is: what would be a good price to bore an engine out? The quote i got for rebuilding a set of gt40p heads that i already have inckuding valve job and the whole nine yards, bori.g out a 302 long block to a 306 and reassembly. All that for $800. Is that a good price? And also...i have an explorer long block which the heads are on, and a long block from a 94 gt. Which would be better to bore out?

Block doesn't really matter since you're replacing the pistons anyway. Might also want to look into the price of a stroked crank. Cast, if you never intend to boost it.

The guy said he would grind the crank if thats what you mean. Or do you mean a stroker kit?

To answer your original question, yes. That is a good price assuming he it's giving you some type of warranty. What noobz is referring to is a Stroker kit. You won't be able to stroke your engine for anywhere close to the price you were just quoted.

Thats what i figured he was talking about. I asked the guy about stroking it, but decided a 306 would do just fine. I bought a teick flow stage 1 cam for my 94, never got to use it. Ill hand it over to him so he can install it when he is putting the engine back together
