I was in a wreck last month and the 289 in my '66 is in pretty bad shape, so I'm looking to upgrade while I'm repairing the car. Does anyone know of a good place to buy remanufactured/rebuilt 302s and/or 351Ws? Or does anyone have any leads on people with engines they're looking to sell? The closer to NC the better...

How much do you want to spend?

Jasper is a good source for rebuilt engines with stock specs. I got a replacement klong block from them for a Chevy pickup I had for about $1,500 with a 3 year warranty. If you want performance, there are many vendors. I just purchased a 347 from Coast High Performance, who have a great reputation for reliable high horse motors.

I bought an engine when I lived in Raleigh from a place called Grimesland. They were in the Goldsboro Area if I remember correctly. They specialize in used engines and trannies. They were reasonable way back when. I'm pretty sure that they are still in buisness.
