I think the ODB code on my Dad's mustang is worth swapping the MAF sensor. Are there better sources than others? I'm seeing about 60 bucks for just the sensor and about 80 bucks for the sensor and housing.
Good sources for a replacement MAF sensor?

It's a transplanted top end from a very late 80s to low 90s to a 302 in a 1965 Mustang. The MAF sensor looks to be from 1989, by the part number on it.

You could probably skip to the last page or so. The last code was that voltage from the MAF sensor was out of range. Here are the last codes:
KOEO:
56, 81,82,84,85, then 10 and 11
KOER:
12, 33, 44, 94
The part number on the top of the sensor is E9ZF-12B579-AA

Oh,the computer is an A9L. This whole wireloom and computer came from the same donor car, so the MAF part number should be correct.
A 94-95 MAF unit would be a compatible replacement as well, and 70mm vs the stock 55mm
I've never understood how this works since it has that square flange on it? Means i can't use my stock air box... Right?
They sell adapters for pretty cheap. I use the adapter on mine and it connects into the stock airbox tubing.
If you don’t want the adapter, you can just buy a 94-95 cougar/thunderbird MAF housing and swap the 94-95 Mustang electronics onto that. The cougar/tbird MAF is the same 70mm
MAF as the mustang except it’s not flanged, it’s the same style as the stock 55mm MAF.

If you look closely you can see the 70mm MAF and the adapter flange in the stock airbox tubing on my car. I ran this with the stock A9x ECU

No. They will only work with a 55mm housing. You can’t switch
The electronics will have a line on them that states "AH55" or "AH70" meaning they will only with with the 55mm or 70mm "family" of MAF sensors. If you actually compare the housings you'll find that other than the external mounting configuration, the internal dimensions, paths, design, etc is the same. Ford didn't reinvent the wheel here.
