this past weekend was the worst weekend of my life. i went down with my girlfriend on friday to a city in mexico called san luis. we went down there so i could meet here parents and to get their blessing so that we could get married. well everything was going better than ever untill sunday afternoon. that day, her family was at church, and me and her were in her bedroom sleeping waiting for her older sister to get back so that we could follow her back to phoenix. well around 5 we were both awakened by a loud @$$ bang, we jumped out of bed and went running outside. as i crossed the kitchen window, to my horror i saw my car in flames. by the time we had gotten outside and started putting out the flames with the hose, the car was completely gone. everything inside the car was completely destroyed. the fire ate through the convertible top like nothing and incinerated everything inside. the paint on the outside bubbled off and from what i could tell the fire burnt the back half of the engine compartment. the mexican police finally showed up a good 20 minutes after we had extinguished the fire and all they did was write up a report, and told us to go down to the municipal building and file a complaint. we did that this morning and they said they'd start an investigation but they wont find/do anything. WTF!! I HATE IT!!! my cars totalled and now i have to say goodbye to my stang. insurance company wont do anything either cus it happened in mexico so im completely crapped out. sorry for my rant guys but i just needed to let off some steam.

Whoa that sucks. Someone should have warned you that you never drive your car into mexico. You rent one and drive it down there and never take your personal vehicle. There is no requirements for insurance there and they could care less about you and your car. And as you just found out most insurance companies will not pay for damages if you are outside the US. Sucks that you lost the car but good luck with getting married.

That sucks...sorry man. Hopefully the bastards that did that get what's coming to them. Situations like these are why I would never drive my car down there. You should have towed it back and said it happened here. Good luck with everything.

God that sucks. Know this. Things do come full circle and if you aren't the one to deliver justice whoever did that to your car will still get what's coming to them (hopefully w/both barrels). Hate to lose a member behind some CRAP like this....

Do you have any idea of what happened? What started the fire? Was it just gasoline, or what? Do you know anyone that would do this to you?

That REALLY blows. To lose your car is one thing, but to have no way to recover your losses (i.e., insurance) is another. I'm very sorry. What are you planning on doing at this point as far as transportation? Was your car paid off?

Oh, and best of luck with the marriage. Please make absolutely SURE she's "The One."

hey rc, thats exactly what i said when i saw my car i was so pissed. but i really cant do anything about it now. i talked to my insurance company and they pretty much said thanks for your business, we're sorry we cant help you but we'll be more than happy to continue the coverage on your other car. that just made my day its like why do i have insurance then? im just so aggravated with everything right now. her parents called her and told her that they had some guy come down and take a look at it, the guy is like a car specialist and they said he was gonna try and fix as much as he possibly could and hopefully in two weeks hed have it up and running. that kinda shined a light on the situation but it still pisses me off that some $(%*$%&@ decided to set my car on fire. whats even worse is that i found out my car was the FIFTH THING HE HAS BURNED AT HER PARENTS HOUSE!!! THE COPS WONT DO ANYTHING EVEN THOUGH ALL HER FAMILY KNOWS IT WAS!!!! well if the cops dont do anything theres only one thing left to do and thats to let MR. AK-47 and his friend molotov cocktail take care of things heres a pic of the damage

I wasn't aware your car wouldn't be covered in a different country,, that's scary since I'm been to canada dozens of times, and never thought about it......

If he's done it 5 times, all I gotta say is I hope he's prepared to be killed soon. Sooner or later somone's gonna see him do that and like you said, MR. AK-47 and his friend molotov cocktail will take care of business.

i feel for you man, my brothers car (a little pos festiva) was lit on fire by only god knows who. Needless to say insurance was being an a$$hole about it and it took a while to get anything out of em. Well we still dont know who it is but if i find out they are going to wake in a hotel bath tube filled with ice. I think that in your cars honor all stangnet members should donate a dollar to you. Just one dollar nothing more nothing less. Although its not mich if you think about having all stangnet members pitching in it would quickly add up. ANYONE else with me on this?
