I've got the same amount to spend, but I have all the hardware for the PI swap. I am getting gears for christmas, so I thought about a new bottom end package $1200, and a tune.

Definately get the PI headswap. You have just about the right amount of money, but go ahead and save about 500 more for some cams while you are at it.

I wouldnt worry about converting it over to a manual yet. Like most people have said go with the PI headswap I will be doing that soon.

i've never done the jerry mod but i heard it's better. a new converter would be to what type you would like, where to have it locked at.

Don't hate on the automatic.
Precision Industries makes good converters. http://www.converter.com/stallion.htm
With $1500 I would either keep saving to get a PI headswap with P&P heads and a set of cams or just keep saving for a supercharger.
I wish I just got a supercharger.

I think you should go for the 5 spd swap.
An auto with the PI headswap and 3.73 gears isn't any faster than a stock non-PI 5spd.

Ok, I'm kidding, just seeing if tomustang was paying attention
