Don't ask me how I got $2500, I need that to get my Stang on road
Looks like I have bad piston rings, I don't know which way to go and what I can do with that kinda money
Meybe 331 stroker kit with my block but than I have stuck with stock heads( no more money)
Get new better rings and meybe pistons and get some good trick used heads
Or just go on junk yard and get 95 Gt engine with 63K miles for $850 and get some heads
What you think guys

or be faster....

get a complete explorer long block 98+ with the intake I se ethem on ebay and salvage for dirt cheap.
Upgrade the springs get yourself some roller rockers and a nice healthy cam to go with them.
get the rest of your suporting mods and whatever tuning you need so you dont join the ranks of

"I just got heads/cam but my car is still slow because i need a tune" club

what if you yank the engine and get a summit rebuild kit or something similar and a set of thumper heads and tmoss lower? paysomeone to do the rebuild and the block and maybe you can save a few buck and get what you need. Just a thought.
will

I'm confuse now
I don't know much about bore ,stroke, and stuff about heads , What If I have bad rings do I have to clean mine block, than put some better rings and meybe forged pistons , but like E303 or Steeda #19 cam, Cobra GT-40 heads and 1.6 or 1.7 rockers(whick one is better 1.6 or 1.7 and why is one better than other one)
How much is this stuff ??
I know I can buy used GT-40 Cobra heads and 1.7 rockers for $400
Cam is around $150 ??
???

bore is the size of the cylinder. boring .030 over is the common size. thats the traditional way of getting more cubes. stroke is the crank's ratio. stroking the motor entails puttting a crank that allows for the connecting rods to move farther within the cylinder allowing for more cubes. i would go with a D.S.S. shortblock and do it yourself. those blocks are basically a bolt in. they test for piston clearance, blue print it, and everything else. with the money left over, get your heads. you can get a 306(stock crank, bored .030 over) for like a grand. the remaining money get heads. don't forget about a tune.

I also like the idea of the built shortblock/thumper heads/tmoss lower. GT40P's seem like they'd be a pain in the butt with the funky spark plug placement and you have to get the right headers and crap like that. I'd rather just go with worked stock heads with decent springs or go all out and get some aluminums.

I would either rebuild your stock block and get a new set of GT40X or Edelbrock performer aluminum heads-you already have a decent intake. Another option, get the DSS shortblock 306, clean up your stock heads and save money for a decent set of heads. Either way your bottom end will be good-to-go!

Because if you do the numbers it really is not that much cheaper, and its alot more work. The only reason to do everything yourself is for the experience, not to save money.
