The 2009 Challenger.............. Photos don't do the Hemi-Orange justice. The guy who bought it let me take a GOOD look at it. Ford better catch up.

when this "Special Edition Dodger Challenger" is history, there'll still be Mustangs in Ford show rooms.

Don't get me wrong, I love my STANG, I can upgrade for less money when I want, but they did the retro on the Challenger pretty dang good. Just saying Ford could have done a little more to keep up. I hope they will now with some competition.

They look freaking HUGE in person compared to how normal size they look in magazines. Park you Mustang next to a Chrysler 300 and that is how it looks beside a new Challenger. Sorry, but although the style concept was good the end result is sized more like a barge and not a pony car as it was intended to be.

I agree with cave diver. They looked cool in magazines initially but ever since I saw one in person it just looks way too big and clumsy. The Mustang by no means a small car either but compared to a Challenger it's tiny. I like the looks of Mustang much better than the Challenger, in fact I think the Mustang is the best-looking car one can buy for less than $150,000.

Yep, got my first look at the 08 SRT Black. First off, yes the damn car is huge. But I must admit that the fit and finish is sick. The color of Black they use is sweet, it has a pearl in it which takes away the swirl marks you normally see in black cars. Second off, the tailight section is very retro as are the front lights.

I also love how the hood edge and front bumper cover meld together. This is one bad azz ride and you have to and I mean have to give props to Dodge.

I know that you can goto Dodge's website and build a 09 on their website if you are interested in seeing how much a 09 RT with the 5.7 will run ya.

I love my Whippled Mustang, but damn this Challenger is sweet. Can you imagine the crazy power these things will have when Procharger or Vortech come out with a S/C for the RT or the SRT???

They make crazy power without it. Bolt ons and a cam can get 400 RWHP with the 6.1...

I'm dissapointed, they've been out for almost a month and I haven't seen a single one I love that car.

Well I expected to get flamed while installing the new computer.........
Glad to see thats not the case. I appreciate the fit and finish too, and I pulled up in front of him in my Stang and it is bigger than mine. The guy also has a 72 Charger and had to have the new one to go with it. Must be nice. He pre ordered this one and got it for MSRP............I would like to test drive one just for the comparison, but would rather have a Shelby if I had to pick between the 2.

Bummer for you. I live near the Motor City. I see car haulers loaded with them almost 1x a week. Silver, black, orange...stripes, no stripes.

I've prolly seen someone drive one at least once a week. I've even seen a few at the dealers...parked near the road.
YAWN.

They are cool. Too quiet, though. A few of us watched one pull out of a local cruise spot and said, "Damn, can't even hear that thing!" I mentioned the Mustang and how even stock it sounded cooler than the Challenger...and he agreed. So I jumped into my stock 07 and took off...

Looked my first over today, black and impressive.Fit/finish is first class and they even painted the block hemi orange, thats detail. It seems big but going over the car the time they spent making it work is really inspiring.I'd pimp one.

The 2007 Challenger is a whopping 6" longer and 6" taller than the 1970 Challenger. It's even an inch narrower. That doesn't sound that much bigger to me. I got a look at the production model a few months ago at a local car show, and I got the exact same feeling that I got the first time I saw the 2005 Mustang... It felt good to see American car manufacturers actually making good looking cars with personality. I could only find a few flaws with the new challenger. 1) too heavy 2) too quiet (but the aftermarket will fix that) 3) no available stick shift. Otherwise, it was pretty sweet. If it was priced the same as my Mustang, I'd be the proud new owner of a Dodge.
