got a new daily driver

1999 V6 5spd 70K miles garage kept. perfect "leather" interior, perfect exterior other than some rock chips in the paint. car seems to run strong and quiet.

i just got a huge job opportunity in houston so i needed something reliable that got decent mileage. the throttle body sticks and i gotta buff theheadlights and for some reason i think the sun warped the 3rd brake light so much it no refuses to fit perfectly in the trunk.

anyhow, im pretty sure i got a good deal and if i do anything it will be:

bullit suspension
black bullits
intake
exhaust
grill delete
GT foglights

better mileage, handling, and looks. most of that stuff i can transfer over to a GT when funds permit.

i'd post pics but its just a loaded silver V6 with the base model wheels (for some reason). nothing worth loookin at.

it didn't come with the key fob. all the online how to's seem to indicate i need the old key fob to make the new one work. is this true?

If it were a perfect world, I'd just buy a lotus exige s and stop messing with cars.

well, i might get a GT or something else as early as a few months from now, i just needed something to get from point A to B. i'm starting to really like the car. i recognize its trouble areas and feel that a GT (or bullitt/mach/cobra) might be just what the doctor ordered down the line. nice n roomy, powerful, decent mileage. relatively cheap. plus the company im going to work for could surely tune it.

I think we're all like this. I know I am.

The funny thing is, if I had the money to spare and my cars were "finished," I wouldn't mind building a nice S13 coupe or even a B13 Sentra Se-R. But all of my friends that aren't into cars would think I was nuts for having my Mustangs, and being interested in adding an old early-'90's Nissan.

I really hope I can pick up one of the last Volvo S60-R's used in a couple years. Nobody suspects the Volvo.

I really don't like how fwd car drive.

I sort of want to get into the import scene but I sure as hell am not modding up a civic.

Ha. The other day I was talking to my girlfriend about cars, and she says "I don't see why people spend all that money fixing up a car rather than saving up the money and getting a decent car." At first, I thought she was talking about all car owners. Turns out she was commenting on a civic that drove by.

Well, when I was in High School my parents had an extra car sitting around, a '92 Sentra XE. I started driving it to work to keep miles off the '66 which was my daily driver. Even with the ga16, that car would do e-brake stands on demand. I learned to do e-brake slides in that car, and even got it airborne once. That car took all the punishment I threw at it. The only repairs it ever needed were one CV boot, and a rear main seal. My friend that was along for all those stunts even ended up getting a '96 200sx(1.6) for his first car.lol
So I just have a thing for those old boxy Sentras. IMO, they look WAY better than the new assless Sentras.

well the thing is some cars like 240's are great platforms that are old and neglected in stock form. i've grown tired of wrenching on it, really, and the first chance i get i'll probably be trading this car off on a way nicer GT. decent stereo, tint, some black bullits and duals will prolly do me just fine for now.
