And then you hope the officer wrote 22350 as the violation which opens up a world of opportunities to "beat-the-rap". (here in SOCAL anyway)
No disrespect intended to you. I just love using the system government has put in place which most citizen completely ignore or don't know how to use.
The traffic court judge in downtown LA is fun to watch in action. I cannot believe the vast quantity of stupidity he deals with in people "defending" themselves...poorly....most the time.
Currently have 22 out of 24 tickets dismissed. (only 1 was mine, the rest are people I've helped) But I AM RETIRED.
Just drive the speed limit or flow of traffic at most.
And thus why the system rolls forward unchecked. 95% of the people just pay. You most likely will have 1 point added to your record at a min.
With just a little bit of effort you could have had possibly no points, no fee or vastly reduced fee and/or no points. Heck even the get out of hell for free "traffic school" is a better option than just paying. If it is an option in your area.
I like to drive fast just as much as the next guy/girl, but paying out my hard earned money for speeding is just too much for me to swallow. Here in europe there are portions of the highway where there is no speed limit, but there are many more places where there is a speed limit usually around 70 - 80 mph. There are patrol cars, traffic cameras, (fixed and portable) and they send you a ticket in the mail. If you are going fast enough along with the ticket a request that you mail in your drivers license. If you don't they come get you, simple as that. The best thing to do is drive the limit. Speeding wastes time believe it or not. The officer will spend about 15 minutes or so writing your ticket, and checking your insurance, and listening to your BS, therefore any advantage you gained by speeding is lost. Speeding wears out brakes. You are constantly braking because you get caught behind someone thats driving the limit. As everyone knows, more speed you will need more fuel. With gas prices going through the roof of a ten story building why waste it, save it for the track. Once I drove from Mannheim Germany to Frankfurt airport, a distance of about 75 KM. I ran full speed as fast as my '97 GT I had at the time would go. I made the trip is 19 minutes flat and burned a half tank of gas. Not worth it. Not worth endangering the lives of the other motorists, not worth endangering my life. Not to mention the fuel cost at I believe around $4.50 a gallon at the time. I drive the speed limit. If I get pulled by a cop it will be for loud exhaust, loud music, being black, driving a beautiful car with shiney rims, burned out tail light etc, etc, but for damn sure it will not be for speeding or DWI.

been tried and it works in every state.
If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light, or
whatever the case may be, you're going to get points on your license
and a surcharge on your auto insurance. This is a method to insure
that you DO NOT get the points.
When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine
is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00, some small am ount over the
fine. The system will then have to send you back a check for the
difference. However, here is the trick: DO NOT CASH THE REFUND
CHECK! Throw it a way!
Points are not assessed to your license until all Financial
Transactions are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the
transactions are NOT complete. The system has received its money
and is satisfied and will no longer bother you.
This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that
sets up the standard databases used by every state.

Sucks about your luck bud, Ive had that happen as well. Sports cars are usually the ones being picked out. And for the guys doin 100 mph in first gear on the gixxers, its ok to shift to 2nd if the road is open in front of you, your engine will thank you!
Do what I did one time when I got clipped for a 69 in a 55 just after a change from a 65 zone. I went to court, dressed nice, used my manners, and told the I made a mistake and I was there to see if there was any way to keep the points off my license. He said no problem and even dropped the fine by $10.
Go find yourself a ticket clinic or something. Might cost you a little (2-400) but they can get it bumped down to a seat-belt ticket and no points on your license.
