But you just contradicted yourself, in one post you say you dont have the knowledge and here you say you dont have the time... I guess this means you have no time or knowledge of how to do it, well in that case your at the mercy of everyone else in the world.

Then I guess $6000 for a salvage title, and crappy 1/4 windows is worth it for you!

Nope, just sick of people only wanting to hear what they want to hear, which has been a trend lately. If you dont want to hear it, dont ask for others opinions!

But you can't seem to resist continuing.......Also, I never contradicted myself. Maybe in your little world people either don't have the time or the experience, but in these parts people actually do run the risk of lacking both time and experience. Oh, and some of the necessary equipment, too. Fathom that. So you can go and get your panties out of a bunch now. If, in the next two or three months, something good comes along, I'll grab it. But options are limited here, smart guy.

The car isn't wrecked, the front was slightly pushed by a hitch it made contact with. I drove the thing to the shop just the other day, straight as an arrow. I don't know why you're getting so hyper-emotional about this. Oh, I have most of MY mods done already, aside from some front end and brake work. Wow, this is getting childish.

Just get the pics up....It sounds like your paying to fix a TOTALED car....most people just go find another (though it may take a while), then swap in their goodies, and sell the old one for extra cash. Its just not economical. You can probably find a good roller somewhere IMO.

EDIT: Just read the above post....I guess it doesnt sound so totalled, and therefore it sounds like this estimate is REALLY high, even NOT taking into consideration the quarters. Go get more estimates

Funny, I was searching the Stangnet classifieds, found something a reasonable distance away that may be worth looking at, turns out the distance on the site is wrong. Pity.

seems everybody on here is a hater!

:SNSign: perfect bodies does good work,i've seen their work(i live in ronkonkoma not to far away)6k is reasonable.
i would be glad to do your quarter glass just let me know(my shops name is Concise Autosports, you may have seen window stickers on a few stangs around the area).
25thmustang didn't you prime your car outside?have you ever heard of the term moisture barrier, probally not.priming outside=not good, driving your car around in primer and primer getting rained on=not good.
and as far as the guy that spent 15k on that mopar thats where old car paintjobs should start(cause they all need to be stripped rust repaired and fully licked in bondo or putty coat and fully block out,and thats a ton of work).so for 6k to do a newer mustang ,in my eyes that sould be a show quality job.
any way good luck on your venture,if you have second thoughts about perfect bodies or want a second opinon hit me up ,i'm local and specialize in mustangs and older car restoration.

UMM my cars not in primer yet... so wherever you got that, nope! And the car will NOT be driven when in primer, it will be stored in our climate controlled shop in the house, where the 5-lug swap, suspension and all other stuff will be put on, then painted in Spring. So I don't need a lesson in where and how to prime a car, but thanks!

If you agree to pay some guy $8000 to repair your car that will only net you MAYBE 5k, you are basically allowing another man to fornicate with you...using a 40oz buy a new car (to you) in good condition.

OK, just to throw the naysayers here a crumb, I'm looking at a '90 25th anniversary GT tonight. 175,000 miles, one female owner the entire life of the car, clean, no accidents, totally stock. Claims to have babied the car. She wants $3000 or best offer. Car is red, so I'll have to get it painted, then I'll drop my goodies into it (I'll have to pull the engine to get the compartment painted). But she claims the only issue with the body, aside from some paint chips, is that the paint is slightly oxidized. Pic makes it look like it may need a suspension, but I'll put my old one in if necessary. I think she's getting rid of it because in every pic of the car, there was a new, white '06 parked next to it. Maybe my lucky day. Soooooo, 25thmustang, I was listening to the advice on that thread, contrary to what you were saying. I didn't start this thread for nothing. By the way, I passed the whole concept of what I planned on doing by the wife, she understood and gave me the thumbs up.

Let's open up a new can of worms: painting the car from red to black. Obviously I'm going to have to hit the engine compartment. Dare I ask, for a clean car that does not need bodywork, how much for a GOOD paint job.
