That's fine. I already have a motor ready for transplant and the car for it to go in. Besides, those cars are in Missouri, I'm in N.Y. I don't buy ANY car without seeing it first.

Actually does anyone here work at a body shop where they do quality show car paint jobs. I do and a quality job that will have a show finish and look like glass will easily cost $4000 plus any necessary body work. So $6000 to fix a nose and give him a show quality paint job is very resonable. We just painted a 911 turbo with a show quality glass finish in BLACK and it cost the owner $8000, yes there was some body work that needed to be done also. A complete paint job easily starts at $2500 with little to no body work and a out of the gun finish which is NEVER show quality glass in my opinion. Add in some body work at $60-$100 an hour and it quickly adds up to $6000 never mind putting on a body kit which are never just a bolt on thing espically if you want it done right. Sorry I didnt finish reading the posts but I just got frustrated listening to people say that was way too high for a quality job. People obviously dont work around this every day. If that is the car you want to have then its worth the money to YOU.....

You people are killing me right now. Should I just assume I did the right thing to find a good body and work it from there? I mean, I've come this far and already have people interested in the body when I am done with it. Perhaps the $$$ recoup on the body and the possible sale of a rebuildable engine and good tranny will balance out the equation here. Damn, so many sides to this.

Henceforward

I wouldnt spend $6000-8000 to have a car with an accident record, but thats me!

Seriously, get another car for $4K-$5K spend the rest on Taxes, Registration, Inspection, Full Tank of Gas, etc...

If my car is ever involved in an accident I am getting a new car.

Actually, lilvinnie sounds more in line with reality when it comes to a good paint job. Also, stop ragging on the $2,800 tag for the quarters, it's not going to happen and I've already passed along the Duggan Racing link to the bodyshop guy for his own reference.
