Well me and a buddy drove down to Noonan, ND today and got my exhaust parts!! So I now I have a MagnaFlow X-Pipe w/Cats and a MagnaPack catback! And it's great how much money I saved doing this! Now I just need my headers and spring to get here and I'm set! lol!

You got the Magnapacks, right on! You're going to love em. They sound wicked with a full exhaust set up and when your screaming through the gears.

I'm a little nervous it's gonna be to loud, but I guess we'll see and if worst comes to worst I can always get some regular MagnaFlow mufflers and put them in.

I think you'll find them quite nice. The ones I've heard are pretty quiet under normal driving and come to life when you get on the loud pedal.

Only time will tell I guess! I think I might attempt the install myself too! I'm definitely gonna get a shop to do the headers. But for the catback and midpipe I might give it a go, save some cash and gain some good experience!

Or you could get Graham (he has a lift). He did Russ's shortblock.

Who is this "Other Graham"?! LOL! I actually talked to minute muffler this afternoon and they thought it'd probably only cost like $55 to do the catback and midpipe. And since there labour rate is $55/hours I'd be looking around $200 for my headers. So I think that sounds like a good deal to me! And that way if Ford is like you have aftermarket exhaust and we're gonna try and screw you on warranty stuff I can say "I had this done professionally here is the receipt, in your face! BITCH!" I've got a few months to figure out what I'm gonna do so I'm not extremely worried about it right now!

I still hold the crown on noise. Rav'in 3 chamber makes windows at end of the bay rattle. If I can remember the numbers correctly a buddy brought over an SPL meter and clocked it at 124 or 114 (can't remember) interior cabin @ full throttle. Volume got old after a while but the sound didn't

Damn...I miss that car

You could come close to winning a stereo competition with 124db. Thats frigging loud.

Our local bylaw is 85db for cars I believe.

I heard some say at WOT the packs will be around 100db. I wonder what the bylaw says for Sask.

That was full acceleration with 4 barrels open. Before the activation point it was alot quieter. I had a stereo in there for a while and had to crank it to overpower the engine noise when I was flogging it. The key to avoiding the noise violation is to master the "idle by" without making it too noticable

Hate to tell you it will cost more the 200 bucks for headers on a 4.6. If you can get a writen estimate do it.

Headers on the 4.6 suck, period. Look at it being closer to 500+ for shop to do it. Major pain in the ass.

I don't know, cause on the JBA site it says 6 hours for install time (I thought it said 4). But even so 6 hours with a cost of $55/hour is $330, which isn't $500!

Well you are still looking at over 4 by the time you add taxes, shop supplies, and what ever they will add on.

Bottom line it won't come cheap.

Everywhere I checked the header install was quoted at 10 hours. That is about how long it took too. $55/hour is pretty good too. I think average is around $70-$75 depending where you go.

We'll have to see then, I read the instructions on the JBA site and it's quiet the procedure to get these things on there! I think I'm gonna have to get some real quotes, not just over the phone stuff before I buy these things. Headers might have to wait till fall or maybe next summer if it's gonna be this much!

It took the "other Graham" and his helper about 7-8 hours to do the long-tubes on mine. I can't see a regular shop with 1 guy on it taking less than that. UNLESS they have done a few dozen of them on those exact cars. Considering you can probably count all the 99+'s with long tubes in this province on one hand,I'd say that's unlikely.
