I suppose I'm fortunate since I had slowed down by the time the cop was in sight. He practically drooled all over the car! When he walked up to my driver window, he touched the car with his index finger and said "Tssst...HOT!" In trying to weasel my way out of a ticket I suggested that the car was a beast and hard to control, that the gauges were hard to see in the bright sun and that I had just come from the hairdresser and was trying to dry my hair. He was rather entertained with my feeble attempts and then proceeded to tell me all about his former stang. He also offered to trade rides...but in the end, still wrote me a ticket for 61 in a 45. :damnit:
Ah well, I'll take defensive driving...and try to slow down.

Thanks. Not much I can do about yesterday's ticket and I seriously doubt it'll have a deterrent effect. As I explained to the officer, it isn't so much that I like to speed but that I enjoy accelerating.
Anyway, Valentine 1 - here I come!!!!

Bring it to court and say when the officer said "Tsst HOT!" he was sexually harassing you. That should get you out of the ticket

Well, his behavior really was rather boyish. I kept trying to hand him my license and insurance and he kept yapping about the stang. He just had to tell me how he had this beautiful '04 red GT and how his wife traded it in while he was in the hospital. He planned on getting a new one...but not yet. He blathered about how a manual is better than an automatic "but I'm not trying to put down yours". And finally, he tried to be really cute by saying "What are you doing on Friday?"...I said "What?"...and he said again "What are you doing on Friday?" I told him "Why?"...and he said "Well, if you call this number (municipal court) on Friday and tell them a reaaaallly nice officer pulled you over, maybe they'll dismiss."

Conclusion: Traffic cops - you are not nearly as cute as you think.

I'd go to court and see if he shows. If he does, it will be your word against his but this guy deserves to be confronted with the things he said to you. He was definitely being flirty and you might have gotten the ticket because he wasn't getting the response he thought he deserved. You can always ask for traffic school if he does show. Was he dressed like that guy on Reno 911 and could you hear YMCA playing in his patrol car?

LOL! Come to think of it...I think I did hear that tune in the background! As for court - too late. I dropped a check in the mail on Friday. Traffic school, it is. He was definitely a ninny but that doesn't change the fact that I was speeding. Problem is, I just don't see myself slowing down anytime soon!

I got my first one yesterday. Unmarked vehicle and he didn't give me a speed...just said he had to do ninety to catch up with me and that it was reckless driving. First thing he says to me is "What's the deal??" I'm thinking what's it look like moron. Then he goes into lecture mode...gives me a safety briefing. The whole time im thinking write me the ****ing ticket and **** off. Then he tests me for alcohol...walked the line...passed. Finally I get the ticket...failure to obey a traffic sign....peanuts. I'm guessing he didn't have a speed for me....probably saw and heard a new GT hauling ass and wanted to interupt the fun

Even funnier is he saw my 82nd Airborne I.D.says to me "I was in the 82nd"....yah sure you were fatty. Then he says "now i'm serving my country as a police officer." I should of handed him 2 orea cookies for a job well done

I was driving down one of the seldom used highways doing about 70 in a 60. He was coming the other direction, when I saw him turn around. I was think to myself, "come on I'm only doing 10 miles over the speed limit". My wife, daughter and one of our friends was in the car. I didn't say a word, because I knew as soon as I did, my wife would let loose. He only gave me a warning. I was like
