Just got my car back with a new kb 6psi. According to a warning doc from kb. The traction control must be turned off all the time. Anyone know how to do that? Here are some pics. I also added a mac cold air kit. Getting it dyno'd june 3. Hopefully my hp numbers are close to 350.

That seems like a fair price. I was thinking a KB 9psi kit down the road, but its just to much money for me. Mongoose kit here I come.

Have fun, and make sure to post your dynos :nice:

don't think the 99's had the button there. And isn't traction control an OPTION on stangs? So maybe his car doesn't even have the button because his car HAS NO T/C.

"Traction control is a new option for 1999. The Bosch system works at all speeds to reduce wheelspin. Whenever wheelspin is detected, the system retards ignition timing, cuts fuel flow, and activates the brakes at one or both drive wheels, in that order. The driver can turn the system off with a console switch."

I never saw the T/C switch on 99's either  But if you have ABS then that could be a sign of T/C, becuase you gotta have ABS for T/C to work.

After googling around I found a picture of it.. but, I don't ever remember seeing this..

"The traction control button is located under the radio. The system arms itself whenever you turn the key on, but juvenile behavior is a mere button-push away."

You would have filled in a spec sheet before ordering...I think the TC option is on that sheet. That sheet is what KB uses for the tune in the SCT chip.

KB recommends that you just lose TC all together, but I don't think it's mandatory on their chip.

Did you tell KB to lose TC or keep it?

If you told them to keep it...you have to hit the button like normal. If you told them to lose it...your SCT chip will automatically turn off TC at start up.

Was that a new KB S/C? I've been wanting a KB...like most everyone else and was quoted ~$7000 installed here in CT. Am I just talking to the wrong people or can I feasibly get the same deal near my location?
Congratulations on your S/C? Hope ya love it!!

Guys don't pay anyone install it, the instructions are truly dummy proof. There is a picture for every step you do. They are the best instructions I have ever seen, just set aside 12 hours and invite some friends over....I just got them some beer and a steak to keep them happy, the install was not hard and you will learn alot about your car!
