Got myself a Cobra intake manifold, TB.. etc. Questions...

I just got it all today. I picked up for $300: Cobra U/L intake, 70mm Ford throttle body, throttle cable and bracket, t-stat housing, egr, all bolts, new gaskets for the lower, stock fuel rails, and 1/2" heat spacer. Is that a pretty good deal?

Where can I get just a new gasket for the upper?

Now, I'm wondering if I need that 70mm TB or not. I've always planned on getting an Accufab TB when I buy an intake, but this Ford TB came with it. Is 70mm too much for my application? I don't want to lose any low end torque if I can help it, since this is a daily driven street car. Would I be better off with a 65mm? And do I have to worry about quality on the Ford piece? I know Accufab makes the best TB's, so that's one thing that makes me want to buy one. Will the Ford TB have any problems with sticking open or anything?

If by going with a 70mm TB I won't lose any low end, and i'll gain power across the RPMs, then I will go with that, but I really don't want to go too big and lose power. I plan on a set of mild heads sometime in the future, but I won't be doing anything too major (College student).

I know that Grn92LX is gonna come in here telling me to get a 95mm throttle body, but that's ok. I want to hear all of your opinions. Thanks.

BTW, does Kirban make the best AFPR? Where can I pick one up? Would another brand, like Aeromotive be just as good?

Actually, 70mm is what you want IF your buying a new tb. The tb won't hurt your low end torque. Accufab makes afpr as well. Personally at your level, the tb might not be the best investment. You aren't making much power. It wont slow you down, but may not make you much quicker. Its up to you if you have the money.

Ok then, I might as well just stick with the Ford 70mm TB. I think it's the only brand I would trust, besides Accufab, but there's no reason to spend a bunch more money for an accufab when I already have a perfectly good TB.

I just wondered if by going with a 65mm, it would retain all my low end, and still give me room to grow in the future. But, if I won't lose any low end with the 70mm, and will have even more room to grow, that sounds like the best bet.

Blue Oval Industries sells new Kirban AFPRs for $69 on ebay. That sounds pretty decent to me, since all the other brands i'm finding are at least that much. Does anyone know of a better deal on a AFPR?

Yeah that would be nice, but I still need to decide which route I want to go with H/C. Like I said, i'm a college student so the funds are always tight. I would love a nice set of heads like some AFR's, but the price is pretty steep for me. I can never seem to find a good used set of heads for cheap either. That's why i've always considered some more mild heads, like GT40s or Thumpers. But then I wonder if that would just be a waste of money.

But the one thing I do know for sure, is that no matter what kind of heads I end up with, I am definitely getting a custom grind cam made specifically for my application. If you think about it, why spend $150 on an OTS cam, when I could just spend like $325-ish and get a cam specifically for my combo. I think it is well worth it, considering I will be utilizing the combo to the max.

I guess I have a while to make these decisions while i'm saving.

Ok this is probably a stupid question, but which side of the TB do you measure? The side that goes against the manifold measures 70mm, but the side that the intake tube connects, it measures 65mm. Which is it?
