hey i got my double hook quadrant in today, and my clutch it adjusted fine i am pretty sure. shifts fine and feels great. But the pedal has a small area of slack, and the quadrant is loose on the shaft. i can make it move with my fingers.

The instructions told me put the cable on the closest hook to the firewall. Now i have my FWA adjusted way out and still it has that loose part to it.

the paper said to line it up and when adjusted the tension of the cable will hold it still.

I only run a single hook but it sounds like you should swap to the further away hook and readjust the FWA accordingly.

Good luck.

I have a double hook and I tried both hooks before deciding which one to leave it at. As long as everything is shifting and releasing ok set it for your personal taste. Technically there shouldn't be any slack in the cable (its the way our clutch system is designed) but some get away with it.

Get under the dash and look at the pedal assembly. I had this same problem and installed an adjustable cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster to solve the problem and the problem is still there. I found there to be a little play in the pedal assembly. Not sure what will fix it but I have adapted.

There should be slight tension on the cable. Also be sure you put on the spacer washers behind the quadrant when you put it on so it lines up straight with the cable.

i didnt get any shims or anything. The paper says that the preload from the cable holds it from moving from side to side. Well my clutch it adjusted and there is no real preload on the cable. I will try and put in on the other hook (like stock hook) and see if it fixes it.

I dont think you need the shims either. I played around without shims and then with them (someone linked to a thread where I talked about it).

Good luck.

Anyone have a 3 hook quadrant? I just got one and it looks decent but I'm still swapping in the the T-5 and don't have it hooked up yet. Don't know that the extra hook makes much of a diff. I guess it's another option.

The extra hook is fairly useless unless you used some goofball cable. The third hook was done for patent infringement reasons.

I figured as much. I got it on ebay and it just looks like a UPR or some other knock off but I'm sure it will work okay. If not, then lesson learned I suppose.
