Hey guys, Last week I got my new convertible top put on finally. It was a fairly unpleasant experience and I would not deal with this place again. First I was told to have it to them by 8 am two Thursdays ago saying that it would be done either the end of that day or by midday Friday. 3 pm on Friday rolls around and finally I call them and they say "oh, we got sent the wrong top and it wont be done until Monday or Tuesday. Great.
So Tuesday afternoon I get a call saying it is done. I go to get it at 8 am Thursday morning and the top looks good, but the other problem (driver window goes up TOO far causing it to hang up) I had them fix had not been fixed at all. They ask me to wait and say it will be done in 30 minutes. 2 HOURS LATER they say oh sorry, the stops had fallen off and the bonding adhesive we are using needs all day to dry so we will call you later today when it is done. I tell them well what are you going to do about this price wise??? I just lost half a day of work when you told me the car was DONE. He says, well my I lost money too having my guys work on it. At this point I am getting angry and say, look YOU are the professionals and it took my 5 seconds to realize you had done NOTHING to fix this window. I lost half a day of work because YOU told me it was done when it wasn't. So finally the old D BAG says he will take off the 70 they were charging me to fix the window. Also saying, 90% of the times stops are reglued they do not stay on and the whole window must be replaced. Well guess what, the crap didn't work later that night. It isn't a big deal it just means everytime I put my window up I have to back it off a half inch or so.
Anyways, there are two things they are eating at me regarding the top not being right and I need to ask guys with verts to tell me if this is right or not and need others to chime in in general.
Problem 1 I asked them about and they said it was normal and water "cant" go in there. Maybe I am wrong but it seems off, idk.
It is regarding the trim down by the quarter window. Is the hole down there normal and stock or is there something missing here??
Second question is regarding the ever so slight gap up near where it meets the windshield. I just do not know if this is something I need to be bringing it back over or what.
Thanks for any and all input.
