I don't know why Xanax is getting so ticked off. This is a forum were everybody had their own opinions. I think the info in this thread is VERY helpfull to people who don't know that much about spray. Thanks for the info from everybody!!

Back on topic:
I thought about running spray in my car but I'm afraid of the result, blown motor. I know you have to pay to play but I just don't want to blow a motor. Are these kits pretty safe to use, or is there still that high chance of the motor going south?

If you wanna know about spray on these motors PM lopey 4.6 hes been running his for quite sometime I believe . Personally I have a blower but to each is own , If I had known about his dyno numbers and how long hes been running his car with the jug on it I might would have sprayed mine .

Can we get some more technical information on how the different kits are activated. And how safe they are? I'm finding myself actually considering spraying now because its going to take a long time for me to save enough money for a Kenne Bell which im going to eventually buy. I would be interested in a 75 shot wet/dry (whichever is safest) kit. But i want to have a shift light and the works because i want to keep things as safe as possible. What are the octane requirements for the different systems...id hate to have to use highest octane fuel all the time just incase i need to use my spray but that maybe the case.

Edelbrock kit I think uses a mechanical switch for the throttle for activation, but does include a fuel pump voltage booster for the stock pump to get more fuel , not sure about the NOS kit , I think it uses a electronic activation off the TPS , not sure about the fuel side of that kit though .

Im debating between NOS or Zex for my 03 GT. Im planning on going with a 75 shot, but nothing more. I was wondering what you guys are running (Zex, NOS, dry, wet), if youve had any problems, and if you needed to replace anything besides what comes in the kit (spark plugs, injectors, fuel pumps etc.) Also what do you guys think the best way to shoot the nitrous is? Please give me any info on these kits. Thanks

I had great results with my NOS dry kit.

Things that I may have missed in the other threads, window switch and a WOT switch. The first makes sure you only spray when you want to even if you are at WOT, the second makes sure it will only spray at WOT.

I was confused by the definition of wet and dry kits earlier so I'll explain it in my own way. A wet kit has a fuel solenoid and a nitrous solenoid, both are introduced in the intake before you get to the regular injectors. It's called wet because there is fuel in the intake. The dry kit injects only nitrous into the intake and relies on the computer to add more fuel with the stock fuel injectors. NOS aslo has a system called NOSzzles (spl) that incorporates the nitrous injector and your stock fuel injectors together so it is a direct port system. I don't think there is any drilling or tapping needed in that system.

Take that with other's first hand information since my knowledge of nitrous comes mostly from books and a little from friends that have run it.

I only have experience with NOS and NX kits. Wet and Dry. I think for what you want , the NOS dry kit for your car will be the best. You will want a bigger shot than 75 once you start. Look at the link, I think it will help you.
BTW, nitrous itself is not flammable, it is just a way to get more oxygen into the engine, then by adding more fuel you make more power. :D

Well, I just purchased the ZEX Wet Kit (#82023) 75, 100, and 125 shot jets. I got the kit, the purge, the bottle warmer, and the pressure guage for $760 SHIPPED !! I am no expert by no means, but I have did about as much reasearch as you can do on the internet on this subject (nitrous), and this seemed to be the best way for me to go IMO. I did fail to get another guage that I wanted, but I will be getting it from Autometer shortly, and that is a fuel pressure guage. I think that this is as important a device as you can have running the "oh my God" juice. Keep your eye on this guage while spraying, and make your adjustments accordingly. I may even get an air/fuel guage also, to keep tabs on that situation too, because if I'm not getting in the area that I feel I should be in, there are things I can do on my own to fix this, without necessarily getting an expensive dyno tune to rectify the problem. (Not to take anything away from a good dyno tune, because that is the best route to go)......but there are alot of things we can do on our own as far as our Stangs go, that do not ALWAYS require one.
As far as SAFE goes, I think that all in all, a dry kit is safer than the wet, because the fuel from the wet kit is what will PUDDLE on you and cause an intake backfire. But, IMO, when used properly, and managed well, today's nitrous kits, wet or dry, are the safest they've ever been. Just use it responsibly, maintain your priorities (guages, air/fuel), and just have fun !!

How come no 4.6 guys run TNT Nitrous Kits, but ls1 guys live by it

I got alot of ls1 and 4.6 buddies. And on here and in real life, it seems no 4.6 owners get tnt nitrous kits for the cars. Just about any ls1 guy I know is running a tnt kit on his car if hes spraying. I mean seriously, they all are running the same kit. Any thoughts or experiences. Cause there getting great numbers out of those kits.

I've never heard of it...........

I saw an installation of a TNT kit on a C5. They look like good kits to me. It was cool because they had the nitrous feed incorperated into a mass air spacer type thing.

Also was that a 150 shot Blk03?

if I remember correctly its because the TNT kit cost so much more than your average kit. I want to say the starter kit for TNT is somewhere around $700+
where you can get a NOS, Zex, NX kit for around 450. But I have heard good things about them I just think its the price that scares people away, remeber nitrous is supposed to be a "cheap" power adder.

Ok I have a couple questions... Does anybody live in Cali and if so what are the legal issues of having NOS in your car. I'm not saying like if you get caught using it on the street but like just having it in your car. 5.0&SF did a couple of articles last year about NOS and explained the diff between Wet, Dry, and DPI (Direct Port Injection). But they also talked about how in some states (like Jersey) you had to pay for a permit to have NOS in your car.

I currently have the Edelbrock dry kit with a bigger pill. I have always heard that due to the intake design, puddling on a wet shot is somewhat common. I do however have a NOS nozzle kit at the house waiting to be installed. They are expensive but their definately isn't a better kit out there! I talked to NX about their nozzle kit they are coming out with this summer but they quoted me $1500 :notnice:
