Also if you think that ZEX is the best then you need to hit the search function. I know nitrous very well. installation, design, use, tuning and how the PCM reacts. This dry kit is the most advanced for the returnless cars.

I am currently installing the NOS 5116 kit on my car. I can't wait to try her out.

When deciding what kit to buy the only two brands i ever thought about was NX with Gen x 2 upgarde and NOS 5116. I went with NOS because i got a better deal.

From what i've heard both NX and NOS put down teh best numbers. Of coarse with NX being a little stronger.

If your keeping an open mind as what kit to buy also take a look at the VENOM No2 kits.

Cheers

I was going to get a blower, but having 400 rwhp everyday just doesn't seem practical to me. I will probably get nitrous (like this afternoon). I've done loads of research on it for import cars (I owned a 3rd gen eclipse). Since this seems to be a general nitrous thread...

Stock headers/exhaust good for nitrous?
What gauges do I absolutly need for the safest? Fuel pressure, A/f, nitrous, egt?
NX seems to be the kit for me. Stock clutch ok for 75/100 shot? What else would you reccommend? Types of plugs? Gapping?

Well the reason that you get more rwhp with a NX 100 shot than a NOS 100 shot is because NX rates their pill sizes at ther rear wheels, NOS rates their jetting at the flywheel. So there is the difference in that. If you spray x amount of nitrous with a NOS kit, and a NX kit, the numbers should be similar. A dry kit just adds the extra fuel by forcing more into your injectors using a higher fuel pressure.

I got an NX kit because, first they have the highest quality solinoids. Ask anybody who knows nitrous, NX solinoids are guaranteed for life.
Also I don't like the idea of taxing out my stock injectors and fuel pump. A wet kit just takes fuel from the rail, but not enough to drop fuel pressure. I'd really rather not have my injectors running a 100% duty cycle.

Zex is left off my post because I don't really know anything about them, heard good though.

To answer you Drk, the better your exhaust when you spray, the better the exhaust. A stock system will work fine, but if you add an offroad x-pipe you'll gain say 10 horsepower naturally aspirated. With the nitrous flowing, that 10 hp gain might go up to 15 or more. The more efficent you start out, the more you'll gain from the nitrous.

The only gauge you'll really need is a bottle pressure gauge. Just get an automatic bottle warmer and even that becomes a mabye. An a/f gauge is really not a necessity and can get expensive to get an a/f monitor. Just get on a dyno and try n/a, then with the nitrous and check to make sure that it's under 13, more around 12.

Just have a bottle warmer, wot switch, a switch in the car to hit the nos, an rpm window switch (3000-6000), fuel pressure safety switch if you have a dry kit, and you'll be set for a safe shot, every time.

I'm loving my recently installed nx kit. With a 75 shot it feels like someone kicked the car in the ass, it just leaps forward :)

A wet kit just takes fuel from the rail, but not enough to drop fuel pressure.

Well the fuel pump does work harder even with a wet kit.

I got an NX kit because, first they have the highest quality solinoids.

Their solenoids are good but not the absolute best. NOS has been doing nitrous way longer than anyone else out there. I know theirs are good. Also Pro-Flo is some of the industries best.

I think Im going to go with NOS or Zex. And Ill get the bottle pressure gauge, a/f gauge, bottle heater, and maybe a purge kit? I wont be spraying that often, I only go to the track a couple times a year. Is any of the safety stuff that I listed not worth it? I also have a C&L plenum and accufab 75mm t/b coming along with my 85mm MAF, so Ill probably get the Pro-M a/f controller. Also the most important question, wet or dry, which is the safest, why?

Thanks Lopey!

The kit should be coming in sometime this week. I'll be pulling the car out of storage with in the next two weeks and then i have to get to work with the install.

What kind of times can i expect witha 100 shot?

here are my performance mods

Lopey the wet kits
will always be safer because it sprays nitrous and fuel at the same
time witch will have a less chance of nitrous backfire and fuel puddling.
Like I said before any nitrous kit will work but, with a dry nitrous kit
you have more of a chance in a 4.6L engine of backfires and fuel
puddling.

you got quite a bit of nerve DIP'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'......for criticizing someone about not being knowledgeable about nitrous & the 4.6!
first of the thread you said wet kits are connected to the injectors......not all wet kits are connected to the injectors.
then you said "wet kits will always be safer because it sprays nitrous and fuel at the same time witch will have a less chance of nitrous backfire and fuel puddling."
WRONG.........wet kits puddle not dry kits!!!
then you said this "with a dry nitrous kit you have more of a chance in a 4.6L engine of backfires and fuel puddling.
like i said dry kits dont puddle in the intake wet kits do!!
it would be different if you stated this as misinformation but you trying to put someone down when you do not know facts you are trying to act like you know is just hilarious! :rlaugh:

I have them in the ultralite series. A/F will bounce around when cold, really just for WOT. Nitrous gauge is really accurate, just try to keep the length of tubing to a minumum

Yeah, I think Im going to go with Nitrous pressure and fuel pressure. It seems like everyone is saying to go dry. So which dry kit Nos, NX, or Zex?
