The car started pinging pretty bad last night in a gear under load. Pretty much 3rd gear up at a lower/lowish RPM with 3/4 or more throttle it pings bad.

New plugs, new fuel filter... Bad COP's contribute to this? It might be related to the bog I have on a cold start.

Maybe its time for some Seafoam.

Any suggestions?

Should probaly add im running 87 octane as I always have, havnt switched gas stations much (used them all before w/no issues).

I have a K&N filter, needs to be cleaned. Possible dirty MAF cause this?

try bumping up to 92 for a tank or two...you might have gotten a crappy tank of gas. if you have a handheld tuner you might back the timing off a degree or two....
I'd try the fuel before anything. Are your plugs gapped correctly?

I accidently poked a hole or two in the boots that connect to the COP's.. it just caused it to miss like crazy, never seemed to ping though.

I would try to bump up the fuel like suggested and see. Does it sound like marbles in your engine? Backing the timing down sure would help also.

I have heard of pinging from a dirty MAF also

Sounds like a chinging or change in a tin can.

Dont have anything to adjust timing with, could try bumping octane... its not doing it under normal driving so this tank is almost gone, ill probaly choose a different station to fill up at and still run 87.

Gonna clean the MAF when it stops raining, and I want to replace the COP's but they are too damn expensive.
