Went down to the local 1/8th mile tonight. It was 90% rice, but there were some nice Mustangs and F-bodies. I made 7 passes and beat the co-competitor 6 of them. My only loss was to a supercharged LS1 T/A. I got him at the line (.116 R/T), but he blew by me in quick order. I took down 2 different turbo'd civic hatches, a FWD turbo Eclipse and one all wheel drive Stealth. My best time of the night came on the 2nd pass; a 9.72. Keep in mind I am S-T-O-C-K as can be. I was happy with my R/T's all night. I had 60-ft times of 2.25-2.43. I fooled with tire pressure some and honestly did the best on 30psi. My biggest problems were that I skated badly in 2nd and 3rd, letting off on one run in 3rd because I got a bit slideways. I feathered 2nd nearly every pass. It was great weather for racing, mid 60's and low humidity, but the track was still slick.

Anyway, had to share my fun. Now which way to the gear aisle?..........

Sounds like fun. Try and get your 60'fts down. You should be able to cut a decent 2.0-2.1 on stock suspension.

Oh definately. I think I was leaving too hard and spinning the tires. I was overly concerned about cutting a decent light and not concerned enough about leaving right.

Just ease the clutch out. Don't be concerned about launching hard, ONLY concentrate on one thing at a time. Hold your revs at about 2000rpm when launching on street tires, then really just slip the clutch and gas the crap out of fit.

Wonder what having the traction control left on would have done for me................On one run I left with it off and then turned it back on after hitting 2nd gear, but the light didnt' go off. I don't know if it won't do that or if I just missed hitting the button squarely.

Def. leave the traction control off when racing, no need for it, will only cause you to slow down! Just learn how to launch or get some drag radials or osmething
